Super User deaknh03 Posted April 17, 2016 Super User Posted April 17, 2016 Is he ok? Havent seen him on in a while. 1
Super User Darren. Posted April 18, 2016 Super User Posted April 18, 2016 Agreed! I'm also wondering how @SirSnookalot is doing. (Not to hijack your thread)... Just been wondering if he and @Long Mike are ok.
dave Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 A LONG time since we've seen MIKE. Sorry, carry on. I do hope he's around.
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 18, 2016 Super User Posted April 18, 2016 Mike is fine. He has devoted his time to caring for his wife. Fishing and the Forum have been put aside for a while. 5

Super User Sam Posted April 18, 2016 Super User Posted April 18, 2016 Mike is doing the right thing. I see so many guys who put fishing first and family second that it amazes me that they do anything with their wives and children. Just this past weekend a friend with a wife and a young child went fishing on a Saturday. Saturdays are family days unless I have to fish a tournament. If I go out in the boat on weekends, other than for a tournament, wife goes with me. Long Mike once again sets the bar high for us all to clear. 2

So you can still be a good husband and father as long as you fish only tournaments on the weekends? Sweet reminder here; thanks. 2
Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 18, 2016 Super User Posted April 18, 2016 Mike is an exemplary individual. His devotion to his wife is commendable, and quite rare in todays era. Your remark is uncalled for bassh8er. Perhaps you should take the advice Sam has opined. 1

I dont think bassh8ter was commenting on mikes actions but on sams comment saying guys that fish on saturdays arent family men. I find mikes actions to be commendable but sams comment inane. 5
bassh8er Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I don't know Mike or his situation and wasn't commenting on that; sorry to offend anyone, that wasn't my intention. i did take issue with Sam saying you can't fish on the weekends if you have a kid or a wife, unless it's for a tournament. Only then is it understandable to fish on the weekend; if it's for a tournament. 4
Super User buzzed bait Posted April 18, 2016 Super User Posted April 18, 2016 well wishes to mike and his wife 1

I took it as people that spend any "free" moment doing something for themselves everytime (could be anything, not just fishing) rather than spend time with their family. Personally, I don't care what anyone else does as its none of my business. I was just shocked at the comment made by @bassh8er. I just think Sam's comment was misunderstood. 1
Super User Redlinerobert Posted April 19, 2016 Super User Posted April 19, 2016 This thread is about Mike. If there's anyone on this board that deserves respect it's him. 3

Just wanted to get that in before it gets locked. I wish Mr. Mike and his wife the best! 2
