Super User A-Jay Posted April 16, 2016 Super User Posted April 16, 2016 I got out today on one of the larger bodies of water I fish. Most of the Ice went out Yesterday though about 1/3 of the lower / southern end was still froze up. Water was a little stained & 41 degrees at the launch. Headed to a depression on a sun baked flat that has wood in about 10 FOW. Jerkbait started taking decent fish right away. A Slow sweep with a 4-6 second pause was the ticket. Most fish came on the pause. As the sun started to warm things up I moved closer to the ice flow - fished the edge of a long sloping point. Still throwing the jerkbait. Bigger smallies here. 3's & 4's. Fish were getting pretty brave. Following the bait right to the boat & then choking it. Really fun to watch. Don't ever remember a day like today, and won't soon forget this one. Fishing next to ice in shirt sleeves & wacking very respectable Brown Bass. Got some video. It's loading up now. I'll post it up once it's ready. A-Jay 5 Quote
