Looking for a reputable place to send a couple reels for cleaning and tuning. No local places around me, and I'm not as mechanically inclined as I thought to do it myself. Anyone know a reputable companies I can get in touch with?

You have a few choices depending on the level of tuning you're talking about and how much you want to spend.

Mike - Deleware valley tackle

Trey Harpel  - threeltuning

Ian Shields - Shields rod and reel

Ian is THE reel tuner if you want the very best tuning service out there. It's amazing what he can do.

I can service and tune your reels to the highest level. If you send them in include your screen name and get a 10% discount off the already low labor. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I generally do it myself, but a couple years ago DVT cleaned and repaired a couple reels for me that I thought were completely shot. He restored them to like-new condition, including an older D-series Curado that I still use.

I highly recommend DVT and inquiring if there's Carbontex drags available for your reels. Great cheap upgrade!

Mike (DVT) does a phenomenal job on service, tuning and repairing reels.  he's won me over as a customer no doubt, he's incredible with communication and level of service.
