Fishin' Fool Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I caught my first smallmouth on a NED rig yesterday on St Clair. So much for being a little fish bait. The fish weighed in at 4-9. 9 Quote

Super User Cgolf Posted April 17, 2016 Super User Posted April 17, 2016 The Ned is a big fish bait fished in the right spots and a numbers bait everywhere. Now that I think about it, there is a spot where I see Muskie busting big schools of baitfish the size of the Ned, with a bigger hook and a leader I got a shot, will have to try it this summer. River fishing I have caught many large smallies with it and trout over 20". It really is just a match the hatch bait for smaller baitfish which all fish eat. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted April 18, 2016 Super User Posted April 18, 2016 That is one big cat. I fish the ned on a L weight rod and have hooked a few cats maybe a quarter of that one's size and they were all touch-and-go to land without beaking my rod. I love that little rig but I know it is just a matter of time before I hook a monster and break the rod. Quote
Toby12 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Great looking fish! What brand plastic and what color did you use? Quote

I'll assume your talking to me because his cat is ugly the zman trd worms. And I think the color was either copper craw or something with money in it. 1 Quote
