Can someone give me a break down on differences between these 2 boats. Tracker Pro 190 TX vs 195 TXW. Looks like same length but different storage layout and engine? 195 TX is about $5,000 more in price. Also would you spend $5,000 more for the 195 or save the $5,000 and get the 190 TX? Any thoughts would be nice or else recommendation for other bass boat in this price range.

Looks like the TXW is about 9" wider...that'll make a difference in fishability.

The 190 is spec'd out with a 115, HP 2 stroke Optimax (great motor), the 195 with a 150 4 stroke (also a great motor); that's a huge difference in motors...probably most of the $5K, right there.

Both are way under-powered for trolling motors - the 190 has a 12 volt 45 lb. thrust Minn Kota Edge, the 195 bumps that up to a 55 lb. thrust...neither is enough for those boats, IMO.

Both offer cheap, entry level ($100) fish finders...You're going to want to replace them with bow and console units with screens bigger than a deck of cards.

If you think the slightly smaller size of the 190 will work for you, I'd grab that and throw any extra money at a 24 volt trolling motor and decent electronics...depending on where and how you fish, even consider a shallow water anchor like a Talon.

Yes I knew I was going to upgrade the trolling motor and electronics on it. I even wonder if they have upgrade charges to get a better trolling motor and fish finder. Has anyone had tracker boats and can speak regarding it and experiences with those boats?

I have a Tracker Deep V 16, I have replaced the TM and the electronics on it. Boat and motor are great.

As far as upgrades, that will depend on the dealer. I bought mine from a smaller dealer so I didn't ask for upgrades on things.

In addition to what was already said, the 195 is going to have a better ride. Stop by a Bass Pro and take a look at both in person. You can really see the difference. 195 is noticeably bigger

Tracker builds a decent boat...if I had the budget for either and was already planning on upgrading...I'd go with the 195 for the increased size and the bigger motor.

Most of the price difference is in the motor.

Im looking at the same 2 boats. With the financing plan bass pro offers the monthly payment for the 195 is only about 8 dollars more. After weighing the options I thought I'd be crazy not to go with the 195. I won't be purchasing it until later in the year but unless something catches my eye the 195 will be my first boat

I was looking into them last year and talked with a couple dealers. You have two options on the trackers, you can buy a package deal (what you are referring to) and then buy any upgrades through your dealer and pay him to install them ($100/hr shop time). OR you can go through your dealer to customize a boat from the factory (sometimes not an option), and they have options for that. You can upgrade TM and wiring, you can upgrade electronics, seats, flooring, dash configuration (on some models), livewell pump sizes (on some models), add hydraulic steering, etc. These upgrades take place at the factory and are only available on new models and have a looonnng wait time. My dealer said it would be WAY cheaper to have him find a year-old package deal somewhere and have it shipped to him then do the basic upgrades (tm, electronics, pumps) by myself or in his shop.

Did you actually get financing details as far as interest rates? Just wondering details regarding interest rates from Tracker Marine as my credit union offers 2.49% up to 7 years or 3.99% up to 10 years. Wonder if Tracker financing would even be near those rates as I know dealers would prefer you go through them with financing and wouldn't mind if it was close to those rates.

I didn't go that far into detail with him. I was just looking at what they had on the boat as far as prices go. The 195 was 186 a month I believe and the 190 was 179. That's with 10% down. All I asked was what the ideal credit score was and he said that they didn't look at credit score as much as debt to income. You might be better off going with the credit union because those are pretty good interest rates.

If I remeber correctly, the payments listed on the boats at tracker marine are 10% down and financed for I think 20 years. The payment also included a credit score if iver 800. I beleive the realistic payment will be around $250.

20 years?!  If you are financing a boat for 20 years, you can't afford that boat!

It was 144 months which would be 12 years. The guy told me that since it's a recreational loan that credit score wasn't that big of a deal. He said mostly they want a debt to income ratio under 35%. Which is pretty high. I figured mine to be around 17%. I don't see guys paying 250 a month for 20 years. That would mean you end up paying over 60,000 for a Bass Tracker.

I was wrong. The 190 is for 144 months the 195 is for 180.

Yikes...that's a ton of interest!

What about the 160 or the 175 TWX? Do they offer the same financing plan for those?

Posted

I would love to purchase a 175 TWX in Red under that deal. I just assumed that a $17,000 purchase would be about a $300 a month payment and never pursued it. If I could get a boat with a monthly of $150 or under I might consider it. I have 4 lakes within an hour of my house. I fish out of a Bass Raider right now. Would love something to take my kids in and that we would have plenty of room to stand up in.

If I remember correctly from what I saw a week or two ago the 195 has the largest beam of any other tracker boat out there. And I am including the new Nitro Z20 and Z21, it wasn't by much but a few inches. That's crazy to think in an aluminum boat. But financing anything boat related for 15+ years is just insane to me. The interest alone would make that a 40k dollar boat in the end. Too many people buy these large flashy boats that cant afford them and forget that a nice boat like that doesn't bring you better fish. Often people with the smaller boats are rewarded the better fish for the simple fact that fishing pressure and bigger fish are better in those hard to reach areas that many big boats cant get to.

Actually leaning towards the Ranger RT188 over the Tracker 195 now. Any experiences or review of customer who owns or have been in a Ranger RT 188?

I've heard some things on another site about Ranger aluminum quality and service that makes Tracker sound great.  Have you looked at Alumacraft yet?

I purchase my Tracker 190TX in 2013 after evaluating other aluminum boats in the same class.  The 195TXW was not an option for me in 2013, and now that it is available and can afford it, I have decided to stay with my 190TX and make the necessary upgrades.  Mine was purchased with the 115 Optimax Pro and after two full seasons on the water this motor is appropriately suited for this boat.  I have started my upgrades which I have detailed on member site.  No upgrades for 2016 as the truck I us to pull my boat is 20 years old, so that is the next upgrade.

Did you buy from bass pro? I'm debating buying from them or a local dealer. I'm torn between the 190 or 195. I haven't done much research on other aluminum boats though.

I purchased from a local dealer but financed through Bass Pro as Bass Pro made me an interest rate offer of 2.99% with 10% down at the time of my purchase.  If a dealer sells Tracker boats they are required to tell you about the financing through Bass Pro.  The best place to purchase is where you receive the lowest interest rate!  To be sure ask the dealer and Bass Pro what interest rate they will finance you at, then go with the lower rate.

The 190TX and 195TXW as equipped will last you a lifetime! But, I know you will want to upgrade the electronics, trolling motor, and an anchoring system just to really feel comfortable on the water and that is not inexpensive!  The 190TX is offered about 5k less than the 195TXW; that 5k would go a long way toward upgrades.  With the 195TXW you spend an additional 5k for 35 more horsepower and a 9 inch wider beam!

I spent a few months researching aluminum bass boats and what I realized is the various manufactures are competing for your dollars so don't believe all the negative commentary you hear about each manufacture.  I have

taken my boat to Bass Pro for my installs and they have been great to deal with.  The best boat to get is the one that puts a smile on your face and a bass in your live well.  Good luck!
