RUSS9999 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Found a 18' 2003 Lowe 180W Stinger with a 2002 Evinrude E90FPLSN FICHT on it and local dealer say's that's the motor that broke Evinrude also has 1000 hours on it. But think he was set on sealing me a boat on his lot. Anyone know anything about that motor? Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted April 16, 2016 Super User Posted April 16, 2016 I have a 2002 version of this boat and it is a god sturdy aluminum boat. As I recall the FICHT Evinrudes of that era had issues. I would not buy that motor or any boat that it is mounted on. If purchasing the hull and repowering it with a different motor is an option, then maybe. I have a 2002 Yamaha 4-stroke and other than one issue it has never failed, going on 14 years now. 1 Quote

If the motors are taken care of, you could potentially put thousands of hours on one. As far as the FICHT, they have a reputation of being less than stellar Quote
