Only rod I can remember with that kind of taper. OP, a St. Croix Legend at $5 should have you running back to the pawn shop offering them at least another $100 just to ease your conscious. Quote
tstraub Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Looks like you really got a deal there. If they are selling them that cheap I wonder what they gave the poor guy that pawned them. I was at a pawn shop they other day and all they had was a few beat up low end spin cast combos marked at $20 a piece and one antique looking non level wind round baitcaster that they had in there display case. I didn't even bother asking the price on it because I had no interest in it. That Samurai looks pretty interesting with the odd taper. I have an old Shimano Fightin Rod with a similar taper but I haven't fished it much I got it and a few other old rods from my father in law last fall when he was cleaning out his barn. Quote
Kevin22 Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 FYI when you break that st. croix you can send them $85 and get a brand new legend tournament (I assume that's what they will send) no questions asked. Look at the gold plan http://stcroixrods.com/service-warranty/service-warranty-policies/ Quote
DaveT63 Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Nice! I'd double your money if you send me the St Croix! Lol! Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted April 16, 2016 Super User Posted April 16, 2016 That's a seriously old Legend. I'd equate it to a Premier of today. A good find nonetheless. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted April 17, 2016 Super User Posted April 17, 2016 I came across some vintage St. Croix Premiers a few months ago. I contacted St. Croix and gave them the model #s. They told me the range of dates they were made and the retail price they sold for. You might be interested in that info on your Legend rod. Quote
