Hey guys I'm new to this forum.

I have a live well box from Cabelas and no pumps.

I am looking for some ideas or links to info on building a good live well.

Thanks for any help.

The type of boat you have will determine your set up. Basically you will need a hose to fill from the lake, a over flow and would be nice to install a recurcilate pump. You are going to need to drill some holes in your boat , obtain some switches and pumps. unless you are going to set up a removable system. 8)

Yeah I'm looking at doing a removable system.

It is a 1964 Crosby john boat converted with a front deck with a 25hp Merc. on it.

I'm thinking about a two pumps. One to pump into and out of the live well (tank) and one on the side of the tank for circulation/aireation.

My boat.  Not my pait job. I am currently working on it. When time permits and will do a better camo style.

I looked at Cabela's there are several on there. If you mount a recirculating pump near the botttem of the well ,usally you would mount a tube with holes in it to spray into the tank . If you put a Y valve on line before it sprays into the well you could switch the water flow, to make it a pump out system. That would require a hose on the Y side to send water overboard. You could fill it by hand circulate it with fish in it and dump it ,with only this set up. If you want to pump water in from the lake you will probably have to put a hole in your boat below the water line. In the summer you are better off leaving the house with cool water already in the livewell., and circulating it when you have fish. If you are going to eat them I would carry a ice chest and put them directly on ice.

Good Luck BILL
