RW, Darren and others have made it clear how much they like YZ Hybrid.  Thanks for this post and the replies.  Lately I've gone back to my spinning gear and gotten addicted to the Ned rig with the TRD and small craws.  Just ordered my first spool of 6# Hybrid to try.

I think you will like the line, but I still recommend treating it with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner.

Get extra spools for each.  Then you can 6-8# Fluoro or 15-12# braid for your spinning, and 10-12# Copoly or 40-50# braid on your casting reel.

10 lb Yo-zuri on a spinning reel !! ,  you're leading some one to disaster !!! i couldn't imagine what a nightmare that would be unless the person had a giant saltwater spinning reel , even then that would still make a terrible birds nest big enough for a hawk or two to live in

I don't belive I am. I just didn't post it because I wanted to "lead someone to disaster" I've tried it and like it.. I've always tried to help someone only through experience with a certain product or technique and share what I've found or learned. That's all.

If you disagree that's great. The poster may also....

I just gave my opinion friend, you and anyone else can accept or reject it as such

Will do.  I have been using Red Label as an economy floro to learn with this year, and it works well for me on that. I started using it last year after reading the recommendations on the forum.  I now buy it in the large bottles.  Thanks for the help.

I found his response odd as I use anywhere from 6 to 10lb mono on my spinning set ups. Never had a "hawk nest" on a spinning reel unless I over spooled.  *Nevermind, I missed the Yo-Zuri Hybrid part. I thought he was talking about plain mono, sorry.*

Back to the original topic, I like good old Stren 8lb in clear blue fluorescent. My eyes are not as good as they used to be and that stuff stands out in the light. Berkley Big Game in green is my 10lb line of choice.

I wonder if you're using "soft" Y-Z Hybrid.  Anyway, my dad is a spinning only guy, and he'll go with 6# on a  1000, 10# on a 2500, 12# on a 4000, and actually has 17# on a 5000.  As long as you troll out any twist accumulated, and use a line conditioner, it's fine.  A lot depends on the line, too.  I remember not being able to cast 8# Berkley 100%, but have no issues with 8# Invisx on a 2500 size reel.

like J.Francho , said , you must be using the soft version , cause regular hybrid is awfully stiff , just couldn't image regular hybrid in 10 lb. on a spinning reel , i was joking about leading someone to disaster , we all share are experiences here and it's always appreciated ...

I typically use 3 combos for bank fishing. I use Sufix 831 on a 2000 size spinning reel due to spoil size/capacity issues.  I tie on either a mono or flourocarbon leader depending on what I am doing. I also have a second spool that is 6# trilene XL. I also use Sufix Elite on occasion. For my bank side casting reels 10 or 12# (mostly 10) Trielen XL (Sufix Elite sometimes if on sale).  I use these three lines because they don't seem to have line memory issues like I encountered with Big Game.

Trilene Big Game…………………cast's great,tough,last's a long time.

Was thinking of trying out sunline super natural on a couple of my reels. maybe on one of my baitcasters and one of my spinning reels. Is it any good?

In expensive:

Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 for spinning gear, #12 for baitcasting

More expensive, but what I consider the very BEST:

Seaguar Tatsu #8 for spinning, #15 for baitcasting

Great advice. I also write on the spool with a permanent marker "6F" or "8C", "10M" to tell me what the spool has. It helps that all of my spinning reels are the same model and brand.

Count me as another Yozuri Hybrid user. All of my casting reel got hybrid #6 and #8 except one. All of my spinning spool with 20 braided line and top of with either 6lbs or 10lbs fluro. I do like Izorline XXX #4 too but that because I cant find hybrid in #4 and I need that for my lite setup for trout or panfish.
