KyBassin16 Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Thinks about getting a G.loomis e6x rod is 189.99 worth it, or would a better choice be like a Dobyns Furry or Savvy. Thanks for your Addvice Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 E6X is not worth that price, IMO. Many better options in that price range. 3 Quote
EllisJuan Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I had one and liked it. I would say it compares favorably to an Avid. It is a nice stepping stone in the G-Loomis family. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted April 14, 2016 Super User Posted April 14, 2016 I'd rather have an Avid, Zodias, or Ike series, for that price. And I do own an E6X. 1 Quote
Drew K Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I have a Zodia, Avid and 2 E6Xs. All good rods but my favorite would have to be the Zodia. 1 Quote
Nathan Burton Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I have a couple of e6x's and so far I really love them. No complaints yet. Quote
Preytorien Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 Agree with the Zodias. It's become my favorite rod hands down. Feels more like a high-end JDM than anything else I've used (that wasn't actually high end JDM) Quote
curtis9 Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I've got mbr 843 and jwr 852s in the E6X. I've been pleased with both rods, but I also got them for $125. At full price I think I prefer the avid over the E6X. You really just need to handle the rods and see how they feel to you. I personally prefer cork which kept me away from the zodias Quote

I have to agree with Oklahoma Mike. I'm not dropping $200 on a rod with aluminum oxide guides. Just my opinion though! I feel you have better options in the market for that price range as well Good luck KyBassin16 Quote
stkbassn Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 My E6X Spinnerbait rod has been nothing short of fantastic. I think a lot of people get hung up on the "entry level" status of this line of rods and look for faults where there truly aren't any that I could find. So far the performance of this rod has been outstanding. I haven't lost a spinnerbait fish on it yet. If feels good and looks good and it performs very well. If you're going to buy a Loomis rod then you need to be prepared to pay for it. Yes, there are lots of good rods at that price point but I wouldn't shy away from this series for that reason alone. It's a great rod! Quote
