I just recently stocked up on 3.5" tubes and am in the market for a new spinning reel and pole.  Any suggestions as to the specifics of the rod, reel, and line to get??

I use a 7' MF micro magic w/ a stradic fj. Then I usually use between 8-12lb line depending on water clarity.

What's your budget? I'll give you some ideas.

Also do you have any preferences to manufacturer say like St Croix rods and Shimano reels. I don't care it's your dime. I'll just give you some advice.

I use a 7ft. Med./Fast for the majority of my tube fishing. I can toss a 3-4in. tube with a 1/16oz. jig with no problem. The only time I go to a Light action rod is when I downsize to 2.5in. or smaller tubes.

I have a 702 and a 703 dobyns champion. I use the 702 for drop shotting only. I use the 703 for weightless tubes skipping docks, and smaller tubes. I use a pfeulger president on the 702 and an okuma helios on the 703. Never had any problem with either rods or reels.

The new sclll 7'1" medium fast mojo spinning rod is another good option for less money
