What is the best bait to use when fishing a pond that has a creek running into it?

so many options depending on location, weather, ect. But if you are near a creek some type of crawfish immatation may work. If your looking to catch numbers which I have been targeting go finesse. Try a shakey head or a BR favourite Ned Rig. There is no best bait but right now where I'm located finesse is working. Also a football jig darker colors may work if your located near a creek

The pond I fish most often has a creek running into it lined with reeds. Flipping the creek with a t-rigged craw has worked really well or working moving lures just outside the reeds. Probably can't go wrong with a drop shot in the main body of the pond.

Right after it rains im throwing a weightless t-rigged or wacky stick worm where the water is running in. Other wise I like throwing top water ( wake baits, frogs, mouse type baits, spook type baits). If there is any rocks or boulders running around the pond I will throw weightless lizards as close to the rocks and slow roll it. Bluegill colors work the best for me in the ponds that I fish as they are usually crammed pack full of them.

I was using a jig with a craw yesterday and it worked well. I was wondering if there was anything better. Caught 2 4lbers back to back.

Need a little more info to be helpful - what is the temperature and clarity of the water? A lot of the ponds in my area are stained for a good part of the year, as is the case right now. Water temps are in mid 50's. So I'm throwing a lot of spinnerbaits (darker colors - black/red, black blue, with gold Colorado blades), as well as chatterbaits (similar colors), and lipless cranks (reds, blues, black/chrome). Having a little luck on stationary and slower moving topwaters.

A few of the ponds I'm fishing are a little clearer, and in those I'm also throwing senkos and Ned rigs with decent results.

Can't go wrong with T-rigged plastic worm with the lightest weight possible or no weight at all on spinning or b/c. Z-man finesse worms are a good choice.

I typically throw jerks and cranks in the ponds around here...  seems to work well.

ponds are the hardest thing in my opinion to pattern. they fish so difrent even in the same County just miles apart. I fish alot of ponds an some a jig is the best bait to use an others just 5 minutes away you can try all you want an not get bit on a jig same with chatterbaits or cranks or anything els I suggest going out to the pond an fishing everything you own find out what they bite in that pond an if you go to anougher forget about the last pond an start from scratch an you will find what works best in it. it's a hard question to give a direct answer on but any think you can fish shallow or finesse is a good place to start.
