When the program comes back after the commercial... On the left side of the screen is some sort of design...that I just can't figure out what it is...seems to look like a cable or whatever...anyone know what it is???

I believe its the alien technology that allows them to broadcast the program from the lake without the need of tin foil or duct tape or any other space age materials.

Can't comment on your "alien design", but I do love the show. Would never miss it. One thing that does bother me however, is just what is the tournament sequence? Never could figure out where I am with the tournament? And what are the monetary prizes for each tournament - if any?

I've wondered the same thing. I can't found the monetary prize on there website. Love the show and really like the format.

There are no prizes.  That was posted here or on another bass forum by the MLF owners.  It is like a co op owned by the anglers and some others.  Winning is for bragging rights and everyone wins because they all get a cut from the massive marketing machine.

It allows for television better than the typical tournament style where you have to wait to find out who wins in an elaborate ceremony. The only problem is it is not gonna draw crowds to the vendors booths or sell t-shirts. Also local businesses miss out on the big crowds that weight-ins bring to a community like Guntersville. But as far as entertainment value, I love it. You see the lures and techniques used by the pros and how stressful a tournament can be. Its made perfectly for television.

I've gotta say that last year was the first year I ever went to a major BASS tournament and the spectacle was amazing. Not so much in the Philly tourney cause most thought that was a bad idea. But when I went to the one on Cayuga Lake in upstate NY it was a show. I enjoyed seeing the boats with all the pros gear and skeeter was there giving rides in one of its top of the line bass boats. I would (and probably will) go again.

I don't have cable either. I was able to find it on YouTube and watch some episodes.

This! Oh my goodness, so much this! Not only does it not show up in the tv schedule as whether it is 'new' or 'repeat', and they don't label the title of the show very well, I need to watch the first 10 minutes or so to tell whether I DVR'ed a repeat or not. Then to add on to it the Select series stuff they throw in makes it all over the place. I usually end up seeing guys fishing in the cup series and then later see them trying to qualify for the show I just watched in a Select series match.

I just wish they would label them with and episode number. Or at the very least schedule out all the Select series first and then follow that with the Cup series so you can root for the little guys you have been watching for a month.

Exactly.I can't figure it out but I love the show.Never sure if I'm watching an old show or new one.I CAN remember if I saw it before or not.Not sure who's ahead, in or out but its great.Seems like one week someone loses and then reappears later. Then someone wins or places and you don't see them anymore.Sorry y'all, I may be dumb but I'm really not stupid.

I have my DVR set to only record first run episodes. This allows me to watch them in order. The info on satellite usually shows the first run dates as well. Might be different with cable and other providers.

No. You can find partial episodes on youtube though. You used to be able to watch the full version (2.5hrs each day) on their website for a reasonable fee, I think it was $30 a year, but they discontinued that for some reason.

I don't get it on TV either and haven't been able to watch it online for a long time. Was by far my favorite fishing show. The first couple years I watched every extended cast online.

Me too. I happily subscribed to their "Extended Cast" on the internet, but they've removed that option. Surely broadcasting over the internet is the future and satellite and cable companies are in decline. Why would they not want to gain global income rather than the little audiences they pick up through the various TV packages?

I don't think the BassMaster tourneys have any issues with making money from a local presence but the big money is in TV ratings.  That's where sponsors pay the big bucks for advertising and the typical bass tourney is boring for most to watch on TV.  The MFL format may not be great for local entertainment but it meant more to draw attention to TV viewers and that's where they will make the most money and gain exposure to more people which will lead to more people wanting to fish.  Brilliant idea on the new format.

MFL is starting to broadcast their show on CBS at noon before it shows on the cable channel.  This is a great move because now it's available to everyone nationwide for free with a simple antenna.

I just hope MLF doesn't go to the WFN cause that on my cable company is a higher tier and that means more money for me to dish out. It would be great if they re-broadcasted on CBS but so far I haven't see it on my cable network and its not on MLF's website.

Definitely an addictive format, I get the chance to watch it and the "All Angles" half our show up here on WFN and caught the last Summit Cup on CBS a couple of weeks back.

Would love to see more episodes....and maybe a western location or even a Canadian episode as we've got some great bodies of water up here.

Great show...just too many people giving the " score board results"...too many talking heads...I do like that the fish is weighted an put back in...
