backwater4 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Here is a crappy pic of some swim jigs I'm making for someone. If anyone can give me some tips a taking pictures that look decent, I'd appreciate it. Quote
cadman Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Wow, nice color combos. 8-) 8-) 8-) On picture taking I'm not an expert, but I like to shoot all of my jigs on a white background. Seems to bring out the colors better. Also I always use a tripod for close-ups and a flash. The problem with a flash sometimes is you get shadows. Sooooo I saw somewhere where you can make a small light box for shooting jigs, which has light from all sides to eliminate shadows. I think that, that will be the ticket. I now have to find where I saw it. Also I only have a Cannon A410 Power Shot which is cheap camera, but the pics come out really clear. That's about all my knowledge on digital cameras. Hope someone can post more as I'm curious as well. Nothing wrong with those pics though! Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 23, 2011 Super User Posted March 23, 2011 Very nice! I'm not gonna comment on the pic issue, I'm the wrong person for that. I know NateFollmer and JFrancho are into it tho. Hopefully they catch this thread or maybe you can PM them. Good luck with those jigs! Quote
backwater4 Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Thanks for the compliments. Cadman, a light box sounds interesting. I must investigate. I too use a Cannon Power Shot. I get too many shadows though. The light box probably fixes that. Quote
FIAB Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Backwater4, download a simple program for basic pic edits..... www.irfanview.com The first thing I think you need is to make the picture larger. This program will do it.....very easy. As far as taking good pics Nate and JFranco could help with that......but first we need to get it big enough to tell if it is bad or not. Give me a call if you need some help with it. If you don't have my number anymore send me a pm and I'll send it to ya again. Quote
backwater4 Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 Bone Head, Thanks. I'm going to try it. I deinitely still have your #. You never know when I might need more of those little baits. Quote
backwater4 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 An older cannon power shot. I think my problem is lighting, always too many shadows. I think a light box would help. I'll try the differeny backgrounds and maybe use a portable light source to counteract the shadowing. Quote
