Autiger1291 Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Any opinions on these babies? I've only seen hardbaits by them. I picked up a couple at Dick's because they were on sale. Any info would be great. Thanks Quote
rellison8 Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I have got into them a lot this year. Mainly for the reason you mentioned. Lots of sales and good buys. Overall they seem reel nice and I have caught a lot of fish on the jerk baits this year already. Got quite a few of the shallow running cranks too but haven't really given them a shot yet. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I bought a ton of these from the discount bins at Dicks. I have only caught fish on the Nano Crank and thier Spinner baits. I bought several types of minnows, broken backs, divers, floaters, jerks, a funny looking thing called Bog Hog and a weird looking mouse bait. Never got a nibble on any of it. The lures were pretty brittle too, two of the jointed minnows came unhinged on a snag so I was left with the front half of a lure twice... The lures look nice, but weren't even as well made as those cheap Renegades which are sold on the bottom shelf at walmart. I sold everything except for the Nano crank and the Spinnerbaits on Ebay. Funny thing is, if you can find some Matzuo spinnerbaits, grab them all up. They are great. They have a cool head, a great skirt, and a blade with a hologram finish that matches the skirt and head. As cr@ppy as the cranks are, the spinner baits are great. Quote
flyphisher # Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Have some of their poppers. Caught a lot of this on them after changing the hooks Quote
WBFishing Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I bought 2-5 packs of the lipless cranks on Ebay. I have given them a try and actually do not care for them all that much. I have to tune them constantly to keep them running true. The only reason I have not given them to my brother is because the only hit I have had on them was a 4lber that came unglued. I guess I do have a little faith in them or maybe it is because I don't have any other lipless cranks in my tackle. A positive is the hooks are really sharp, I just set like a wimp on that lost fish. sal669 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I like their "pop-r"s; I grabbed about 2 dozens out of the clearance bin a couple years ago at Sports Authority ($0.89 each, if I remember correctly). Caught a ton of bassies on them. Check the hooks and change them if needed. Their lippless CB(rattle trap style) is worthless, in my oppinion. Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 I have a few of these baits but never caught a fish on them. They look somewhat cheap to me... Its like they tried to make them look good by a nice finish but its cheaply. Stick with Rapala, LuckyCraft, Xcalibur, etc Matzuop is out the door for me. Quote
BassPonder72 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Have some of their poppers. Caught a lot of this on them after changing the hooks I couldn't agree more. I lost 3 fish in a row because of their small hooks. Tied on my Rebel Pop'r and no more lost fish. After I bought new hooks for the Matzuo poppers I had no more problems. The patterns colors available are great. Quote
