Quick question I received a spinning reel I bought today in the mail and in the box was this thing. Was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is looks like it might peel and stick to the spool or something but I'm not sure

I think it's designed so that no one will know you bought a Flooger!

Might be some sort of a shim to put under the reel foot if the seat on the rod does not tighten down enough to keep the reel form moving around.  I have never seen one come with a reel but I have had to make a shim or two in the past.

That's exactly what it is. Put it on the back of your reel seat (foot) to prevent wear on it from your rod.
