Landed a 7.5, 5.5, 4,2.5,2 along with 4 or 5 around a pound. All on jig during a rain storm.

Not a bad day of bank fishing in Idaho (released all )

Second fish is a tank. Congrats?

On a sidenote, what's the deal with all the fish on the ground pictures lately.

That concerns me also.  Not a fan.

Fishing alone, if I want a pic, it's the only way. Of course I always could take them home and fry em.

You can still take a 'selfie' with the fish, although the pictures don't look as good, at least that way the fish don't have all there protective slime scraped off.

I have a selfie stick (although I've never used it because I never fish alone), as well as being able to take a picture on my Virb.

I'm admittedly not a big fan of the ground pictures, but like jignfule said, better than pictures from the driveway or kitchen.

Some great looking fish for sure!

I hear what you are saying, could you just not hold them out in front of you and take a pic? That's how we do most of ours. Regardless of any of this, those are great fish. Congrats!

Catch & release is a good thing but with the release aspect there is usually a certain level & expectation of survival.

Clearly keeping them allows no chance for survival but allowing fish to roll round in the dirt so one can take / post a picture, doesn't show much imagination or effort in the area of actually aiding in a successful release.

Shore bound anglers can easily carry a section of flexible material to be used as a mat.  Almost any clean, flat, non-absorbent item will work nicely.

It can be rinsed & wiped & rolled up for easy use, carry / storage.  And it's re-useable too.

Please consider it.  The bass gods will thank you.

nice fish!

i'll do the ground shot to show off a new rod/reel combo....  the ground definitely looks dirty, but i can't imagine it does any more harm than those who let the fish flop around on the carpet of the boat with the chemicals and all that are likely present while removing the same protective slime...

The first 2 pics don't make me cringe nearly as bad as the last one.

it does beat driveway or kitchen photo. lol

guys that do this probably toss a baby in trunk instead of properly securing in a car seat.

Nice largemouth!

Maybe carry a plastic trash bag, place that on the ground & the bass on that. Easy to stuff into a pocket and I would think that would keep the bass clean and protect the slime layer pretty well. Fill it up with any garbage on the way out and you have left it better than you found it (and gathered some good fishing karma to boot!)

You don't always get the best picture with one hand, but if you take a pic and let her go quickly, maybe you'll have a chance to improve the picture next year...
