Not sure what forum to put this in so i apologize if this is the wrong one. Anyway, i want to but a scale. My budget is $18 which i know is cheap but i'm not looking for anything great, just something small to weigh my bass. The max size doesnt have to be great either, maybe like 25lbs. Also i'd prefer not to have a scale with a hook because i don't want to stab up my fish anymore than i have to. Anyone know something that fits my requirements?

Agree with A-Jay. I bought the scale above and installed the fish gripper as well. Nice and accurate scale for the price and I don't have to worry about stressing or harming the fish with the gripper.

If someone wants to put packages together, you can get the rapala fish grippers at TW for $8-9 if I remember correctly. Pick up 10 of those and 10 scales and only be in it for $150 ish. Could probably sell the kits for $25-30 each.

FWIW............I have a cheap Berkley scale in my boat that is available at Walmart in your price range. I run tournaments, the Berkley scale weighs fish the exact same weight as the much more expensive table top tournament weigh in scale I have.

Somebody here turned me on to this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-Electronic-Hanging-Fishing-Digital-Pocket-Weight-Hook-Scale-40kg-10g-/201182152447?hash=item2ed76406ff:g:vxYAAOSwnDZUKd7b

I bought a few...I keep one in a boat bag, one in my yak crate, and a spare in case one dies.....none have yet

I also use these and have no probs and they are accurate.
