BIG M Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Here is the rest of the baits from this weekend. Now if I can only find some time to enjoy my work. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 8, 2011 Super User Posted March 8, 2011 i like the shape of the first two a lot Quote
hookingem Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 You make me drool over the first few cranks, then do it again with these! Darn you! Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Great work!!...I notice that you put a dot very low on the bait compared to other "manufactured" baits. Is there a special reason for this or just personal preference? Quote
BIG M Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 Just personal preference I guess. The idea is for the bass to key in on the bait around the front hook. The truth is it's probably more window dressing than functional. Quote
EdH Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Big M - you've got em nailed down! I like the simple clean look you do. And the finish is top notch too. Thanks for sharing the pics. Gives me something to strive for as I start out makin cranks. Quote
SkilletSizeBass. Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Marty, I like the 2'nd. pic bait, is that off a particular design bait? thats nice Quote
Fishwhittler Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Nice baits Big M! I like the two green/yellow ones. 8-) Quote
CCP Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 very nice as always......they just plain catch fish Quote
BIG M Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 Thanks guys Skillet, both baits in the first two pics are the same body style. Bait 1 has a soft wobble and bait 2 has an aggressive rod shaking wobble. Quote
BIG M Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 Bait #2 has that funky zig/zag swimming pattern. Gets real crazy banging around in rocks. Quote
Vodkaman Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Bait #2 has that funky zig/zag swimming pattern. Gets real crazy banging around in rocks. That sounds like a hunting action. The lure wiggles as normal, but swims in a zig-zag pattern. Looking at your bait style, I would imagine you get a lot of those. Can you build that action in every time, or is it accident? Some say hunting makes no difference. I happen to think that change of direction catches fish. Dave Quote
BIG M Posted March 15, 2011 Author Posted March 15, 2011 I have a couple of body styles that will have the hunting action every time. I have not figured out how to control how much zig/zag each bait has. Quote
