ghost Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Not sure if you are suppose to swim a plastic with it or crawl on the bottom. Also, what type of plastic do you use a darter head? Grubs? Quote
Super User WRB Posted April 4, 2016 Super User Posted April 4, 2016 Dart heads are designed to swim slowly through the water column similar to a swimbait. 1/8 dart works good with 4" to 6" curl tail finesse worms. The dart head shape tends to snag easily, so fish it in areas where cover is light. Tom 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 4, 2016 Global Moderator Posted April 4, 2016 My favorite head for swimming a grub or small paddle tail. Quote
Super User MickD Posted April 4, 2016 Super User Posted April 4, 2016 Swim baits, jig sized for the bait. Tailor the retrieve to what the fish want, but they will work fine with steady retrieve or jerking/twitching off the bottom. I use round heads for grubs. I think darters usually have longer hooks, which would go through the grub farther back than I prefer. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted April 4, 2016 Super User Posted April 4, 2016 although i had no takers on it this saturday, i was SLOWLY swimming a keitech swing impact on a darter head. could work it as slow as i wanted and still get that tail kick Quote
