RyanDR Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Just saw the 6 piece Megabass Hyuga. It's a 7 foot light rod. Could a 6 piece rod possibly be good? If it is decent I may have to snag it. Shouldn't get hit too hard with customs fees either. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 How long of a Rod is that ? Lots of high quality multi piece fly rods catch fish bigger than bass so in theory I would keep an open mind but remain curious as to the reasoning behind such a Rod design. Quote
Joe Schmuckatelli Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 when i went to japan and walked into different tackle shops they were full of multi piece rods you would be surprised at how different our markets are. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted April 5, 2016 Super User Posted April 5, 2016 I am going to assume that many Japanese fishermen utilize far more public transit then most Americans do, especially trains, to get to the water. I don't think a 7' rod would win you many friends if you were dragging it around the station, plus all the chances to break a tip. Quote
