back in the early days of B.A.S.S. a big winner on the circuit were fleck spinnerbaits.

They are nearly impossible to find now a days, but I am trying to buy some.

I like them because the wire where you tie the line to the bait is a closed loop.

I actually think this is why they lost popularity.  some pr man decided to market his companies spinnerbaits as 'superior' because the line tie area was not a closed loop thereby exciting bass by blah blah blah.   anyway.    does anyone know where I can get these?   They were made by lunker lure and called Fleck weed wader spinnerbait.  and yes they were great in weeds.

I can't even find them on ebay.   I would consider any other closed loop spinnerbait but it's the fleck I'm really searching for

thanks.

I still have a few new in package. Not a  good spinnerbait by todays standards. Poor swivel and the old Hula popper - type skirt but in plastic. I hate how almost every spinnerbait on the market is the "r"type (open) line tie. I assemble my own closed-eye spinnerbaits   for about $3.50 a double willow gold baladed, ball bearing swivel, with a skirt you make and a trailer hook.

Used them a lot in the eightys.  The name changed to supreme sometime back then.  You can still find them on the internet.  Try supreme lures.

Looks like there are people here willing to help you. If you want to explore other spinnerbaits that have a twisted (or closed) eye, you might try Northland Reed Runners and the twisted-eye models of J-Mac.    jj

I use to get my Flecks at Northern Bass Supply up in NH years ago. Great spinnerbaits. Have caught a ton of bass on them. Not sure why I use only the fancy/modern versions these days? Availability maybe, but they will still catch a lot of bass.

I remember back in the day I had a couple of them and I can't remember what I didn't like about them.  Probably the vinyl skirt.  My favorite back in the day was a smallish frame - round/oval head with a short blade arm and a smaller single Colorado blade.   A black one with a black or brown pork frog or a white/chartruese one with a green & white spots pork frog ( standard size, # 11 I think was the ticket.
