Teaching myself how to flip and I have ran into an unexpected problem.  Is there an easy way to clean snell knots off a hook once you are ready to re-tie or switch out baits?

That's what I am using, not very efficient though.

that's why I quit using a snell knot. not enough benefit to be worth the hassle.

Boomerang snips work fine for me.

Or get a sharper knife.

Boomerang or a sharp pair of nail clippers and keep digging at it.

I use a lighter, just dont light up your keeper!

That works with braid?  Braid is what's a pain in the rear.

Just take another hook or something similar and pull the tag end out. The line that runs down along the outside of your wraps. Once you do that it just pulls right off. super quick and easy.

Everyone so far has mentioned it. Lighter, nail clippers, tip of a pocket knife blade. Very easy and quick.

I also use a pocket knife when on the water.

Have to cut at an angle, slow from side to side
as each strand gets snipped.

Need a decent knife if you have thick leader...
