Kuenro02 Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Hey guys, meeting a guy tomorrow who's selling his xpress X19TS. It's a 2006 with an 2006 Evinrude ETEC 200 hp. Any thoughts, experience or concerns with either boat or this motor? I feel like this boat would haul butt with a 200hp. We're taking it for a drive to test it and check it all over. I like the idea or saving some $ on gas hauling and running this boat with it being aluminum. Are there any downfalls of aluminum besides a little rougher ride? Not planing on taking this boat on anything bigger than a 5000 acres acre near me. Thanks Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 3, 2016 Super User Posted April 3, 2016 Got a buddy I fish with who has an X19 with the Yamaha 200. You will have no problems with the Hyper Lift hull as far as ride, it's as smooth as any glass boat. It handles Toledo Bend quite well. And yes it hauls butt! 1 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted April 4, 2016 Super User Posted April 4, 2016 As aluminum boats that boat is big and heavy. Don't be thinking that you will be saving a ton of money on gas. Compare it to similar sized glass boats and it isn't that much lighter. If you are running that on smaller reservoirs will you be "putting around" more than you will be "running"? I'd be concerned about carbon build up, putting around on quarter throttle or less for any period of time. To my mind, that is the primary advantage of 4 strokes, i.e. you can putt around all day "quietly" and never carbon up the engine. The cool thing about that boat is that it is built like a tank and with modest care, will last forever. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted April 4, 2016 Super User Posted April 4, 2016 I'm sure it's a nice boat as I've heard nothing but good things about Xpress. They're supposed to ride great and are definitely fast. Like fishes said though, don't expect much in savings in towing or running as they are within a few hundred pounds of the glass boats that size. 1 Quote
Kuenro02 Posted April 7, 2016 Author Posted April 7, 2016 Thanks for the responses. I bought the boat and I'm super pumped to get it on the water. We took it out last Monday and it hauls, 74 on gps. Very impressed with the ride. Love the Evinrude and the 80 lb fortrex pulls it faster then my last fishing boat:) 3 Quote
