So I whacked my buddies motor the other day on a cast and broke the tail off my RC French Pearl. Went to DSG where I normally get them and they didn't have any, that's odd... So yesterday went to Cabelas and they only had one and my luck it was French Pearl.

I get home strip the Owner rings and Mustad hooks off the old one and pull out the new one.. Totally different animal. No longer translucent, now a cream color, not white. Rattle is much more of a deeper tone and somewhat louder. Only thing the same is the garbage O Rings and hooks. Actually I think these are worse O rings than the previous ones they used.

Could be a new manufacturer. Most likely a manufacturering error. These baits are mass produced and have very little if any quality control as far as hard baits go. (hence the price tag). I have some rage craws in Blue Craw in what you would think is 2 different colors by looking at them. The entire rack where I got then looked the same. I thought it was just a newer version of the color. I haven't seen them in that color since(thankfully).  It happens. Call them an ask.

Wow that doesn't look good. If that is what the French Pearl will look like from now on I will be disappointed. That is one of my favorite colors. Hopefully the secret night and pro blue have remained the same.

Just out of curiosity, what is the manufacture address on the back of the package? From what I understand the company has been moved a few times over the last couple of years and from what they told me on the phone it makes a huge difference.

Yikes. That is the current address I believe.

When you fish the bait next, let us know how it works out.

Their colors have changed for sure. Their sour apple color has way less green and purple and the purple is much lighter.

I was thinking they were made in Missouri? I know the G5 was at one point.

I think I was looking for that color last year after seeing my buddy hammering them. The fp I got didn't look anything like his.

I'm sure fish will hit it... Any of you have a Ito 110 in French Pearl OB and could post a pic? not a pic from a website, a real life in the flesh pic from your phone lol

Cool bro. May have to go back to the MBs.

Take it out of the package and leave it on the dash of your car for some time. Flip it over halfway through. The color will fade and it might look better.

Edit: my buddies favorite color and one that has caught him a lot of fish has also changed colors. Guess I'll have to scour locally to find the original color.

Are the color changes you are seeing in new baits bought recently?

I have noticed this as well, I'm a fan of the "original version" of the RC STX's, I don't like the look of the new ones... the paint isn't as detailed, and the body has a more pronounced scale pattern to it. You can identify the new versions as they have the blue Luck"E"Strike logo on the front bottom of the package, the old ones don't.

The ones I'm seeing that look different are in the stores right now. I haven't bought one in quite awhile, but I saw some on sale recently and didn't buy any because they didn't even look the same.

If the colors changed the switched factories and the new factory is having issues matching the color that or they use a low quality factory in China. Yes there are high quality factories in China.

just in case anybody cares, here's the pic i sent to the OP last night of the Megabass Vision 110 Jr i had in the french pearl OB (orange belly).  It's much more similar to the original bait he broke and was looking to replace with that translucent look...  although not in the same price range no doubt.IMG_0055.JPG
