Super User T-rig Posted May 20, 2007 Super User Posted May 20, 2007 I recently bought a Jackall Water Monitor in baby bass (very realistc looking) and figured this should be a pretty good post spawn bait. I'm going to try it out tomorrow. Do guys have any other suggestions for post spawn lures. I tried SB's and cranks but they dont seem to work. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted May 20, 2007 Super User Posted May 20, 2007 My favorite post spawn lures on most lakes is a watermelon trick worm rigged weightless and a pearl Super Fluke also rigged weightless. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted May 20, 2007 Super User Posted May 20, 2007 I'll second the trick worm and superfluke advice and add in a senko or trick stick and a Sweet Beaver on a Spot Remover head. And dont rule out the spinnerbait if the wind is up. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 21, 2007 Super User Posted May 21, 2007 I'll third the zoom fluke and zoom trick worm advice, and throw in an unweighted ugly otter (esp. in bulrushes). Roger Quote
feldtbass23 Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 I went out two days ago after a storm and they wouldn't hit anything but cranks..gotta love it- first post Quote
Guest avid Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 That lure is awesome looking. Post spawn is a fun time. The bassies are hungry I can't argue with the recommendations, swimming a trick worm is great fun. Try bubble gum or merthiolate color. But I really like my hard baits like pointers, rogues, etc. and have very good luck during post spawn. Quote
Bass XL Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 i just got back from fishing a tournament on truman lake in missouri. The water was 18 ft high..then the night before the tournament, the lowered the lake a foot and a half. Well it was a very hard day of fishing...any who, the following baits were the ones that cought the fish: sweet beavers, senko, white or yellow horney toad fished in the grass, black and blue jig, purple jig, paca craw, gold rattle trap, and spinnerbaits. Stringjam Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 That's a pretty broad one depending on what kind of water - - - - if there is still flooded cover available, I like to swim a Zoom Mag II weighted lightly through everything, it just seems to catch better quality fish for me than a floating worm. Other than that, I'm happy when fish get on a crankbait bite, since that can also produce some big strings. Quote
bassman00012 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 weightless fluke and senko....can't go wrong Quote
sal669 Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 Good advice !!! I would just add SLUG-GO-s to the list ( just to make it more confuzing ) Good luck... Quote
