Steven Ladner Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 After much headache with trying to come up with a Natural Shad, I've decided to stick with this one. Please let me know what you guys honestly think, it gave me a lot of trouble. - - - - Also did a few of these for a Relay For Life event that contacted me for donating some door prizes. Quote
FIAB Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Those look great.......you never cease to amaze!!!! Quote
FourCorners Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Awesome looking shad! Did you add the glitter or was it already in the paint? Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted March 7, 2011 Super User Posted March 7, 2011 i like it a lot, but i think it might look better without the white scale mesh. its kind of distracting to me. i think it would look even more awesome without any kind of scale mesh at all Quote
Steven Ladner Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 Thanks guys! FourC, no glitter was used on it. Dave, I don't typically use scale mesh as I hate it but tried it out on this one. I'll keep playing with it, thanks for the tip. Quote
BIG M Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Marc, I would love to see the shad without scales or just scale along the shoulders of the bait. I think the colors you used look really good. Quote

I think the colors you used look really good. yeah i think scales just along the shoulders might look good as well. the more i look at it the more i think it is the contrast between the white masked scales and the dark silver body color that is distracting me. maybe you could make it black underneath before you put the mesh on or mist lightly with silver over the masked scales after you have removed the mesh. hookingem Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Some of the work you guys do is just downright amazing these are awesome! Quote
BassinWill301 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I really like it with the scale mesh. Gives it a different look for sure. I also would like to see a version without the mesh to compare. Quote
Morelures Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Those look great! The scale mesh gives it a very real look, and breaks the colors up. I think the bottom color would look great with a blue/green shimmer pearl over them as well. Quote
Josh Bassman Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 What company makes those lures? The Relay for Life lures are awesome. Have you painted any baby bass? Quote
Steven Ladner Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 What company makes those lures? The Relay for Life lures are awesome. Have you painted any baby bass? All are Lucky Craft baits. I tried a baby bass before but wasn't happy with the turn out. I plan on attempting it again at some point though. Thanks everyone Quote
