What are you guys using to snip your tag ends and stuff on braid? I've tried nail clippers, Rapala "braid" scissors, burning, etc. The scissors worked but after only a couple of outings they have been dulled quite a bit. Clippers just mash and fray the braid, and burning is too close to my main line. I keep my pocket knife razor sharp but it's hard getting close to the knot when cutting off the tag.

Braid scissors, but unfortunately i can't remember what brand they are. I have used them 4-5 days a week for years and they still work great, even cutting limp braid with ease.  I agree that the rapala scissors don't last very long, the ones I tried got dull after only five or six trips.

I think part of my problem with scissors is being a lefty, lol. Other lefties will get it.

I'm definitely going to check out that snipping tool. Already added to my amazon wishlist!

Fiskars work just fine.

I was going to suggest a good set of household scissors, that's what I have used for a while. I find the biggest thing that helps is having a good amount of tension on the tag end so it cuts cleanly. I'm a Kitchen Aid guy myself... lol!

X2. Yeah, I carry a tiny one. Pull a little tension on the braid, and all you really need to do is touch it lightly.

no matter what you use, the tension on the line really does help to make it a clean "one and done" cut.

that said, the boomerangs work great.  i also won some pliers that have a cutter on them that are awesome, but don't remember the brand.  My wife gets some fancy fiskars scissors at work that i use around the house and they work well too.  Tension is the key though.  I usually put the tag in between my teeth and just get it taut and then cut.

Small surgical scissors and tension is key.

Boomerang snips mostly.

But those cheap, small scissors for kids
you can buy at Walmart also work well.

I use a cheap pair of scissors that came with a pair of pliers, I also use a lighter when I forget the scissors.

I use a pair of scissors that came free with a spool of suffix braid.  Sometimes I also use a pocket knife if the scissors are not in reach.

You guys that are using the boomerang, do you have the regular or long snip version?

Boomerang here as well, normal size.  I replace mine every 1-2 seasons as it will dull out, but it's the best money I spend on fishing.  I have a small carabiner that I attach to my belt loop and then hook the Boomerang to it via the ring it comes with.  Makes changing/cutting lines a breeze.

Boomerang!

Another vote for the Boomerang.  I have two of them attached to the boat so they don't get lost or forgotten.

Tight lines,

Bob
