loudcherokee Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 What are you guys using to snip your tag ends and stuff on braid? I've tried nail clippers, Rapala "braid" scissors, burning, etc. The scissors worked but after only a couple of outings they have been dulled quite a bit. Clippers just mash and fray the braid, and burning is too close to my main line. I keep my pocket knife razor sharp but it's hard getting close to the knot when cutting off the tag. LC Quote
DenhamBruce Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 http://www.amazon.com/Boomerang-BTC203-The-Snip-Braid/dp/B016070OSE Take my word for it or just read the reviews. This is what you need. 9 Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Braid scissors, but unfortunately i can't remember what brand they are. I have used them 4-5 days a week for years and they still work great, even cutting limp braid with ease. I agree that the rapala scissors don't last very long, the ones I tried got dull after only five or six trips. Quote

Other lefties will get it. I'm definitely going to check out that snipping tool. Already added to my amazon wishlist! LC Quote

I was going to suggest a good set of household scissors, that's what I have used for a while. I find the biggest thing that helps is having a good amount of tension on the tag end so it cuts cleanly. I'm a Kitchen Aid guy myself... lol! 1 Quote

My wife gets some fancy fiskars scissors at work that i use around the house and they work well too. Tension is the key though. I usually put the tag in between my teeth and just get it taut and then cut. 1 Quote
wisconsin heat Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I just use a knife. I usually have one or five hanging around in my car, so I will grab one and keep it on me while I fish. Quote
junyer357 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Sissors on my small swiss army knife. http://www.swissarmy.com/us/en/Products/Swiss-Army-Knives/Small-Pocket-Knives/Manager/p/0.6365 Best one ive found for me. Small size easy to fit in pocket or a neck cord. Cuts any line, has small phillips for reel screws, and a bottle opener for after a day of fishing. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted April 1, 2016 Super User Posted April 1, 2016 Boomerang snips mostly. But those cheap, small scissors for kids you can buy at Walmart also work well. Quote
Mike2841 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I use a cheap pair of scissors that came with a pair of pliers, I also use a lighter when I forget the scissors. Quote
tstraub Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I use a pair of scissors that came free with a spool of suffix braid. Sometimes I also use a pocket knife if the scissors are not in reach. Tyler Quote

loudcherokee Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 You guys that are using the boomerang, do you have the regular or long snip version? LC Quote

blckshirt98 Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Boomerang here as well, normal size. I replace mine every 1-2 seasons as it will dull out, but it's the best money I spend on fishing. I have a small carabiner that I attach to my belt loop and then hook the Boomerang to it via the ring it comes with. Makes changing/cutting lines a breeze. Quote
