While sitting in my zen garden last night. Meditating on the great mysteries of life, and on the teachings of the great Buddha. I had an interesting thought. Who else here makes there on sauce for hamburgers and hot dogs, and bar b q, and other things? I mean McDonald's has its own special secret sauce for the Big Mac. (Which is really just 1000 Island Dressing.

So I'm curious. What kind of sauces for various foods do yall make? Or do most people fall under a ketchup and mustard only crowd. Share up some recipes.

I typically find my molten chinese sauce to be delicious. I make it by melting down a ladle. Goes great on sushi rolls. You should definitely give it a try!

I've been trolling today...

Plus I haven't used my troll doll picture in quite some time and figured I would break it back out.

Thanks for the voodoo troll doll idea too.

I make a bunch of sauces depending on my mood but like slonezp said, there are so many good ones already out there that you can modify to make your own that the extra effort to make it from scratch isn't usually worth it to me

I had this recipe for a spicy sweet and sour sauce. It was ridiculous and super easy to make.

By zen garden you mean toilet, and the meditation was because you had taco bell.

That is a Raider selfie. Why do you think we have never see a full face pic of him?

As for the sauce. My dad taught me to make three things. BBQ sauce, tarter sauce, and cocktail sauce. All three are better then what I can get in a store.

Sauerkraut with onions and brown sugar for dogs.

No bean meat chili for dogs.

Mayo, ketchup. Relish mixed to taste for burgers.

Caramelized onions, ketchup, paprika, salt, pepper.

Ketchup and mustard plus plenty of mayo.

You got to have the mayo, especially if you are from south Louisiana.

I have found sauces to be way too salty, just like ketchup can be too salty.

Don't want any sauce to overpower the flavor of the beef.

Now, for po-boys, other than for shrimp, crawfish, alligator and oyster loafs, nothing on them.

For the shrimp, alligator and crawfish po-boys and oyster loafs ketchup and mayo are great.

Sauce?? I go with a rub.  Gotta let the flavor of the meat come out, not cover it up.
