Best line for spinning bass setups.

Hi, newb bass fishermen here so take it easy on me. I have two medium action spinning reels and rods that I want to setup for large mouth fishing with Senkos and Jigs. I've heard that Fluro doesn't do well on spinning reels. I used 6# mono with my Senkos last year and everything seemed to work fine. 

Should I change my line to help me out with Senko fishing and what should I use for tossing around jigs? Is their a certain Fluro or braid that will do a solid job with my setups?

Try power pro or gliss.  They both have exceptional sensitivity and the gliss casts a country mile.  Except for crankbaits, the only line I use anymore is gliss.  And before gliss came out my favorite was power pro.  But if you like mono, stick with it as everyone has there favorite line.  The only thing I would recommend if you decide to stay with mono is to switch to ~10 or 12 pound test.

Typically for senko fishing I like to use 8-10lb test mono (sometimes even 6lb, depending on water clarity).  As for jig's, I'd recommend 12-15lb and up depending on how much cover you are fishing around.

I would probably use 10 pound mono for the senko, depending on how much cover you are fishing in.  For jigs 14-17pound mono would be better, but you might be able to get away with ten pound if there is no cover.  And although a medium power rod is perfect for senkos, a medium heavy would be better suited for jigs.

I think I'll do the 8# for the Senkos and 12# for the jigs. Any recommendation for line? I had an issue seeing my line last year so I def need to do something different on color.

Depending on the size of the reels getting above 10lb mono may not work so well. I am a flouro guy on everything except topwater/punching but if you don't want to go that route I would suggest 20lb braid with a leader. Will be easier to manage than the heavier mono.

Being medium rods heavier jigs may be to much also, stick with smaller ones.

I would try braid, because it is so much more sensitive, it floats, and you can get it in bright yellow.  But if you want to stay with mono, big game is the way to go.  And like the above poster, I would recommend sticking with lighter jigs, or getting a medium heavy rod.

Would something like 8# for Senkos and 12# for cover fishing jigs  sound like it would be a good route with the big game?

Yes, that will work as long as there isn't much for cover.

A place to start would be to look at your reel and rod. Each one will have a line size recommendation. Let's say a 2500 size spinning reel could read 6-8-10 lb. test. Now a rod will usually have just two number's, 6-12 lb. test. I try to stay within these parameters to get the most out of my equipment. Keep in mind that these are put in place by the manufacture as a guide.

Just piling on late, here...

I fish 4lb increments of mono... 4# on my UL setup for panfish, trout.  #8 on my M/F for soft plastics and the very rare occasion I'm cranking.  12# on my MH/F 'jig' rod.

I have found that, for me, braided mainline
plus a leader solves all my problems. I fish
wacky rigged senkos, TX, Mojo, jigs, etc.

Leaders are usually copolymer (Yo-Zuri)
from 4-15# test depending on what I need
for the targeted area.

sites. Drives me nuts because I want to watch
but can't afford to buy the series.
