Arobb2012 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 A friend of mine is letting me try out this pflueger president baitcast reel. It's a backup reel for him since he really doesn't like it that much. Anyone have any input on it, any problems with it? Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted March 29, 2016 Super User Posted March 29, 2016 http://tackletour.com/reviewpfluegerpresident.html Received best value award from tackletour. I like the Pflueger baitcast reels I have used. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 29, 2016 Super User Posted March 29, 2016 I used to have one...............other than being on the large side, good solid reel........... Quote
Arobb2012 Posted March 29, 2016 Author Posted March 29, 2016 I looks just like that one from tackle tour but the handle is different. How do I adjust the brake pins? My other reels have magnetic brakes so this is new to me. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted March 29, 2016 Super User Posted March 29, 2016 Did you read the article I gave the link to? The side opposite the handle opens. Don't loose it. The 6 little plastic hats pull out to turn brakes on. Use alternating brakes. If new to baitcasters, I would start with 4 on. Adjust the small spool tension knob on the handle side so the lure slowly falls, and stops when the lure hits the floor, ground or water...whichever the case may be. Quote

Not new to baitcasters just to this kind of brake system. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 If you've ever used a revo, lews, PQ etc. you know what you can expect. Solid reel Quote
RJD1 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 If you get this reel and decide to service it yourself note that to remove the handle you do this by pushing the star drag in towards the side plate and rotate the handle backwards. Took me a while to figure that out but love the reel. Quote
