mnfishing66 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 What's your drop shot reel right now? What would be a good spinning reel for drop shorting under $100. Quote
EllisJuan Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I just got a Shimano Soare CI4+ 2000HGS for drop shot. For under $100 I would look at a 30 size Pflueger President or Supreme. 1 Quote

Fishin' Fool Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Sweet. You got some great looking gear. What do you have about $2,000/mo rod/reel budget? Quote

Airman4754 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Pfluger Supreme 200 size. I really like it. Quote
sarcazmo Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Big fan of shimano reels. I love the stradic Ci4 models. I always tend to buy em used, super value. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted March 29, 2016 Super User Posted March 29, 2016 Currently 3 different reels make the traveling/starting team. Bubba Drop Shot - Curado 50 E with 20 lb Abrazx Finesse Drop Shot - Medium Level Shimano spinning reel (the one with the double paddle handle and quick fire bait, forget the name right now) - now it is the next day and I remember that it is a Spirex This spring I got a Curado 70 and mounted it on an older Loomis 6' 10" drop shot rod ( with a casting handle ) this rig hasn't seen the water yet. Right? if my wife only cried once..... i hear it about every time she comes into the garage!!! i have a 30 size pflueger supreme on my rod i use for drop shot and ned rig, but it could be smaller. i think the 25 size would be a better option honestly, but work with what you got right? Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 30, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 30, 2016 Right now I have a 25 size President but I'm looking to upgrade to something faster. It takes all day to reel a DS up from very deep with that reel. I'd like to get another Supreme XT for it, but I don't like fishing a DS so I don't really want to spend that money on it. Then again, I might like fishing a DS more if I had gear that made it easier to do. The struggle is real. 4 Quote
tander Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Got a Pflueger Supreme XT in the 30 size. Couldn't want for none better. Quote

My pops uses the Supreme's and loves them. Quote

Then I go check a couple other things and come back to it and it is $112.49 and now the Daily Special, just in case anyone is interested... Quote
5fishlimit Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I picked up the new Daiwa Fuego spinning reel at the end of last season, and have been really happy with it. I also have a Pfleuger President, and feel you can't go wrong with that line of reels. Quote
mnfishing66 Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Any experience between these 2 reel. Which one should I get as a drop shot reel Pflueger Supreme $99 Abu Revo S $129 Quote

Have not used it yet but the price was right for what I needed. Quote

The Fisher Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Was hooked on Shimano Sahara until I tried a Pflueger Supreme. I now use a Pflueger Supreme 30X. Keep an eye out at Cabelas. They put them on sale every once and awhile. Quote
loudcherokee Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 After having such great success with my Lews bait casters I decided to stick with perfection and get a Lews Tournament Pro Speed Spin. It's loaded with 15# power pro yellow braid topped with a yozuri hybrid leader and sits on a *** *** Black Medium power rod. It looks like they've updated the reel for 2016 and the new model looks to have some great features. I have absolutely no complaints on mine. Solid anti-reverse, super smooth drag, great capacity, and the reeling is buttery smooth as well. LC Quote
