lmiller157 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Hopefully yall can help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I typically use braid on my spinning and fluro on my Baitcaster, but recently decided to try #12 invisx fluro on my spinning reel. The spinning reel is a Pflueger prsident spinning reel 30. When i cast, the line basically falls off the reel and causes the line to have a ton of slack after the cast. Am i loading the line onto the reel wrong, or am I possibly using to high of a test? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Quote
Kevin22 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Too high of test for a size 30 pflueger. 8# is the highest I would go with that reel. I have used 8# seaguar red label on size 30 presidents many times without issue. 1 Quote
lmiller157 Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Thanks for the response Kevin, I had a bad feeling the #12 was to big :(. Have you had any experience with Yo-Zuri Hybrid ? Quote

lmiller157 Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Thanks, i will buy some #8 today, and hopefully fix this problem! Quote
offsidewing Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 You may also want to check how much line you spooled on the reel. Yo Zuri Hybrid 6lb has only a slightly thinner diameter than 12# Inviz-X. 6lb Yo Zuri Hybird has the same diameter as 10lb InvizX. I fish 6lb Yo Zuri on a 30 sized Flueger supreme and I only fill about 90% of the spool - no casting problems. Quote
jerzeeD Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 You will need a size 35 pflueger and the limpest fluoro on the market (Tatsu and a few others) to make 12 lb. line work. I am running 12 lb. P-line cx on one of my 35's. And 15 lb P-line cx on another 35 size. Of course they are not pure fluoro, but hybrid lines with a relatively small diameter for their weight rating. Quote
lmiller157 Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 How do you like the pline cx? I have only used their fluroclear and have enjoyed it. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 28, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 28, 2016 Well all that took care of the line you're useing.. .As far as your question about spooling it correctly, you didn't say how you were doing it so just let me say that to spool a spinning reel, the line come off the filler spool from the bottom. For a casting reel the line comes off the top... Mike Quote
lmiller157 Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 I will make sure i do that as well. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted March 28, 2016 Super User Posted March 28, 2016 yep, get you some 6 or 8 lb test line and spool it from the bottom as Mike said.... your problems will be solved. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 30, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 30, 2016 On top of the line being too heavy, it sounds like you're spool is overfilled if it's just jumping off the reel. Quote
lmiller157 Posted March 30, 2016 Author Posted March 30, 2016 Thanks guys, i replaced it with #8 invisx and the problem seems to be fixed! Quote
