Best Senko Colors

I plan on buy A LOT of Senkos. My question is, what is the most popular color and can you tell me what color "you personally" have had success on had success on, along with the water condition? Like for example, everyone seems to use "black/black and blue" jigs, as well as some form of green pumpkin. Are there specific colors that seem to work well like that with Senkos?

I fish some fairly muddy water. Probably 2 feet of clarity at its best.

Black/blue flake or black/blue laminate and watermelon/purple flake for me. Cinnamon/purple flake is a good one too.

Black with Blue flake , Green Pumpkin  , Green Pumpkin with Green & Purple flake and lastly Watermelon with Red flake would pretty much cover all bases for you .

I suspect Green Pumpkin is the most popular color, but I would suggest picking YOUR favorite color, I rally don't think it makes much difference.

Try something else besides a senko if the water is muddy would be my recommendation.

Go to the local tackle shop and see what they're out of. Then order that online. It will probably be the best color for your area waters. My fav is a watermelon laminate. But that's the Big Bite. I usually used it wacky style. Then a fellow on here recommended I use the Trick Worm for wacky and I haven't looked back. Reason being, I almost always have a t-rigged Trick Worm tied on.

I have my favorites for combinations of water clarity and light, but if you're just starting out, use the color YOU have the most confidence in. Even if it's the wrong color for conditions, you'll fish it harder.

i really do like the green pumpkin magic though for most situations and i like straight black for the ultra stained water.

I fish Senkos a lot. One of my go to baits. I fish clear NE waters. Visibility caries from 6ft in spring to about 3-4 ft in the summer after vegetation treatment. I fish predominantly an unweighted wacky rig. My go to color is the watermelon creme laminate with the white portion facing down. It imitiates a baby bass in my opinion. Any color with the chartreuse tip is also deadly in these parts. Lastly, a green pumpkin with purple and copper is a solid color in clear water too. 

 

For your muddy waters, I would stay with the chartreuse tips and the solid black, junebug colors ought to work. Get a bunch of different colors and find what works for you.

My top colors are anything with green,light brown,white!

junebug, bama bug, black blue, baby bass, and a perch like color like orange and pink swirl (we call it creamsicle) and sweat potato pie (orange, yellow, red, black swirl)

Clear water: green pumpkins or watermelons

Green stain: Watermelon/chartreuse tip

Brown stain: Cinnamons

Muddy/dark: Junebug, black/blue

I try to pick mine where the clear water gets the lightest colors to the lowest visibility getting the darkest colors. I usually try to have 3 colors that cover each general water color for me. But honestly I haven't tried to hard with the Morning Dawn, Chartreuse Gn & Ch Flk, and Firetiger  (bright) type colors in a Senko. I haven't needed to as I haven't had any trouble getting the other colors to work. 

• Clear water: White or Clear/White Pearls
• Stained water: Green Pumpkins, Watermelons, or any of the colors not on the extreme light or extreme dark ends of the color choices.
• Muddy/Dark water: Black, Black/Blue, or any of the darkest colors
