Well I finally got around to spooling up 3 baitcast reels and 5 spinning reels today. Based on the consensus opinions on here I put Yozuri hybrid 10 pound line on my casting reels. It seems decent a few times I had to unwind the twist though. I put the Yozuri hybrid Ultra soft 6 pound test on my spinning reels. Initial thoughts are I really like the Ultra soft. We'll see how they fish but I might have at least found my new line for spinning reels. Anybody else using the Yozuri hybrid ultra soft on spinning reels?

I use the UltraSoft i6lb. on a casting reel and absolutely love it. I started using Hybrid 10lb. as a leader on my spinning combo last season without issue and I also use it on both my cranking combos.

Big, big fan of the plain Hybrid. Rarely have I been this impressed with a fishing product. It's my go-to line for all reaction baits, some jigging (I like straight fluoro on a few setup), and some spinning (braid/fluoro on a few).

10-12# for casting and 6# for spinning.

I was lucky enough to find 3-lb spools back when they were widely available.

I use YZ-UltraSoft from time to time...;)   I picked up 26,400 yards when these 1 pound spools were on sale for only $25 each.  I think I have enough YZ-US to last for a while...

If I like my 6 pound test spool I may need to hit you up for a few thousand yards. That stuff is hard to find.

I just put 10# ultra soft on a light cranking reel. I used it this past Sat for the 1st time and it handles as good as any line I've used.  Caught plenty of 15-16" on a 1/2oz spinnerbait.  Don't know about its abrasion resistance I fish pretty open water.  Seems super strong for 10#.

It's a great line, been using it for several years.  Too bad  it's getting so hard to find.  Recently stocked up with 1800 yards of 8# and 10#,  thinking about getting some more.

Does it deteriorate with age, assuming proper storage?

I have used them both. I used the  ultra soft in 2lb and 4lb with panfish applications. It broke down very quickly in the sun and heat. Went from 6# breaking strength to 2# very quickly, and got very cloudy and brittle in the process. On a week long trip I left one of my panfish rods on the deck the whole time, just in case I hit a dock where I could pull a few crappie out. By the end of the week I could break the 4# line with two pinky fingers. I contacted yo-zuri and they swore they had never heard of the issue and requested I send my spools (they went cloudy ON THE SPOOL in less than a month) and they replaced the spools for me. The new ones did the same thing. They contacted me about a month later and said I had a bad batch, well I guess the replacement batch was bad too. They did not have any 4# in the ultra soft to give me, so they gave me regular hybrid. The regular stuff is great and I still use it 3 years later.

Note; by diameter, feel, and breaking strength they are 1 size underrated. Compared to a high strength line like trilene XT, 4# is really 6#, the 6# is really 8#, and the 10# is really 12#. The ultra soft felt closer to true ratings, but still on the thicker side.

I have no experience with the lighter pound-test lines commented on by Kevin22, but I can say that my one pound spools of 6, 8, and (two) 10 pound-test line are doing fine - 5 years after purchase. I've actually used up one of the 10 pound spools and am currently working down the other. The 6 and 8 pound spools will last me many years based on current consumption. Hopefully, the line will not deteriorate over that time.

Check back in another 5 or 10 years and I can give you an update...;)
