Hey guys, i am looking at getting some new rods for this season and have narrowed it down to two different ones. The question i wanted to ask is that one rod has 8 guides plus the tip and the other has 10 guides plus the tip and i was just wondering if the extra guides would equal a more sensitive rod? The two rods are the kistler argon and the powell max 3d if   anyone was wondering. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The # of guides could be due to the length of rod. Generally more material and guides will make a rod slightly more heavy so I dont think more guides would equate to better feel. The quality of guides would have more of an impact though.

The number of guides on a Rod should be driven by Rod length, action, guide height and size. The fewest and lightest guides that will handle the application leaves you with a crisp, responsive and sensitive Rod.
