dwoottie Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Hey y'all! I head up to lake conroe for catfishing almost every weekend, but I have always wanted to go bass fishing. I have this tackle box full of lures as a gift from a friend, but I have no idea what to use for bass fishing!!! Could someone please let me know which lures I should be using out on the lake? Thanks guys! Quote
HookdUP Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 We'd honestly be better equipped to answer this with a picture of the tackle box . Quote

Wbeadlescomb Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Throw that Rapala topwater to the right of the frog early or when it's cloudy 1 Quote
bigturtle Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 if you never bass fished with lures, use lures that are "chuck n wind". basically cast it out and wind it back in slowly. That spinnerbait (the wire lure with blades on the end) and any of the crankbait (lures with a lip in front) would be good 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted March 27, 2016 Super User Posted March 27, 2016 You have some good lures there .If there is a dam with rip rap you should be able to catch some there with those deep diving crankbaits . 1 Quote

And there is nothing more easy to use than spinnerbaits, as long as they are wet they can catch fish. A crankbait would be a good second choice though. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 28, 2016 Super User Posted March 28, 2016 Well now,if you don't have any Senko's in that tackle box,you better get some! It is a EASY bait to fish and I have won more money on that bait than any other bait ( Maybe a jig is up there too ). But if you want to catch some bass and you are starting out on bass that would be the bait to start with. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted March 28, 2016 Super User Posted March 28, 2016 any of those crankbaits will catch fish. also looks like a clear spook jr to the right of the spinnerbait and that thing will catch some fish! 1 Quote

Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 29, 2016 Global Moderator Posted March 29, 2016 Throw those small cranks along any rip rap, rocky shore lines, and along any and all weed lines. Throw the frog first thing in the morning into any vegetation. Let it sit for a 3 count and just twitch it a few times and let it sit..if you can "walk" it back to you...Twitch, bring the rod forward to give some slack and repeat. You're gonna have to work at it to get it right. Throw the spinnerbait right up and into any scattered grassy areas. Throw the bobbers away. Mike Quote
