Super User geo g Posted March 26, 2016 Super User Posted March 26, 2016 Loxahatchee Federal Preserve, 6:45-Noon, Weather - light wind out of the S/E, 83*, mostly sunny, water stained. I picked up a friend Dave, and we went to Loxahatchee Federal Preserve off of the ramps at Lox Road. We ran 100 yards to the shallow flat and started fishing the spoil bank. We stayed in the flats all day. Although the vegetation is a little thicker , it is totally navigable. We started catching right away, and although the fish were spread out, the bite was constant all day. Both Dave and I have not been out in the boat in weeks and it was great to be out catching. Although the fish were not big like in February, we did catch a bunch of hard fighting 1.5 bass. Almost all fish were caught on 4" senko type baits in watermelon shades. It was a fun day and Lox and the weatherman did not disappoint. The buzzards did not try to eat my truck this week. I tied plastic bags on my antenna for movement in the wind. I don't know if this really worked, but I will do it again until they leave with the snowbirds to return up north. 2 Quote
