avidone1 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I'm an old hand at bass fishing but a complete newb to kayaks. Not being as young as I used to be and not having room for a trailer, I decided the only way to get back into it was with a lightweight Kayak so after shopping around and demo'ing a few I dropped the hammer on an eddyline Caribbean angler 12. weighs 45 lbs and I can slide it in the back of suv with some orange hunter ribbon and a bicyle strobe taillight to make me as visible as possible. Fortunately I have some productive water within a mile so I won't be travelling far unless I decide to go to the bay for some snook and redfish. All in all, I'm very excited about getting back into fishing http://eddyline.com/kayak-model/caribbean-12-angler 1 Quote
Turtle135 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 nice looking kayak! I believe you chose wisely, finding a kayak that is easy to get on and off the water with leads to more frequent use 1 Quote
Tracker22 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Your gonna love it! Kayaks are awesome for bass fishing. Especially when they're in the shallows. Quote
LunkerFisher Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Looks like a fun ride! Let us know how she paddles. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted March 26, 2016 Super User Posted March 26, 2016 Welcome aboard! Enjoy the sport that kayaking brings to bass fishing! Quote
Bassman37 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Looks great and at 45# it should be easy to handle in and out. Quote

My last ride was an old towne canoe that I rigged up with a trolling motor, outriggers and some fishy extras. It was a great fishing platform, but it just got to the point where loading and unloading was too much of a chore. I'm really limited to space so a trailer isn't an option. I just missed fishing from own boat and after some research realized that modern materials and methods can put me back on the water. Progress is a wonderful thing. Quote
Landis Carrier Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Wow, I thought my Cuda LT was light! That's awesome and a great looking and practical yak! Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted March 28, 2016 Super User Posted March 28, 2016 nice!! that's about 1/2 the weight of my ride 135 which can be a chore to load at times, especially after a long day of fishing/paddling hard Quote
OperationEagle Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Lightweight is awesome! Looking at the cockpit, hope there is room for a fishfinder if you want one? I don't see a logical flat location to place a small battery pack and to ram mount a transducer arm? Would love to see how you will be modding this up. Quote
wpwarhawk Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Nice ... The weight of a kayak is very important to me. After two back surgeries I try not to lift any more than I have to. My Jackson Tripper 12 weighs a lot less than some of the big kayaks, but co pared to yours it's a pig. Quote
Dye99 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 NICE! Ive heard great things about Eddyline boats. Enjoy! Quote
jbw252 Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Congrats. I saw some great reviews on the Eddylines when I was kayak shopping. Get a good comfortable PFD & wear it. Enjoy. Quote
