I was bank fishing a local pond this afternoon (College Station, Texas), conditions were mid to high 70's, clear skies, little to no wind, water is stained with visibility around 6''-10''. Hooked 5 fish on weightless ribbon tale and a chatter-bait, but close to the bank i could see a rather large bass swimming close to the bank. i continuously worked the waters around her and had zero luck. Mainly working the ribbon tale and even my go to wacky rig she wound't budge. Just curious if i was doing something wong or what might be the deal, but it drove me nuts. Thanks in advance.

She just got finished spawning and will not eat until she recovers.

You did nothing wrong.

Happens to me all the time after the big ladies spawn. They just sit in one place, not interested in food or moving. You can hit them on the head with our bait and she will not be interested.

She will be fine in a day or two and you can go back and see if she is still in the area, although she will probably swim off looking for something to eat.

Welcome aboard! All will be well with her. Give her time
and space...just like a human...I better not say any more.

No you probably shouldn't if your wife reads bassresource.  I have made a similar mistake before, and it wasn't pretty.
