Gregory Ciuba Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Hey everybody, just recently moved to Georgia about 2 weeks ago and I'm trying to get into bass fishing. I'm from New Jersey and I've done little bass fishing there I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks they could share to get me started out here being I'm not familiar with the waters and all. Thanks Quote
BrownBear Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Welcome to Georgia! Not sure exactly where you are located at, but you can start with visiting http://www.southernfishing.com it has a listing of major lakes that may help get you in the right direction and what they have been using to catch fish. Also check out the http://www.georgiawildlife.com for your license and other useful information. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted March 25, 2016 Super User Posted March 25, 2016 welcome to the site and the state! let us know where you're at, georgia's got some really diverse fisheries, so you narrow it down you might get a little more help. Also another great source of GA info, tons of local articles, is GON (GeorgiaOutdoorNetwork). Quote
22hertz Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Hey buzzed, how is Allatoona doing right now? I never had much luck there except for a few times. This time last year I would get out to the fishing 'island' at red top about 6AM. I could catch only one about every other or third trip, but when I shine my high powered flashlight in the water I could see fish swimming around all over the place. Has the fishing there picked up any? If you go to that spot early in the morning say hi to my little water moccasin friend that likes to hang out on the bridge side of the walk way stretch by the opening in the rocks Quote

22hertz Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 It can suck at times, but I have found a few spots that are OK. If you ever decide to go to the red top fishing 'island' the best spot is fishing the NE side (1 or 2 o'clock position of the island) Ive also had luck fishing a place where you cross the bridge and pass the visitor? center on the left and somewhere on the left there is a road that passes a soccer field (or something like that). There is a boat ramp there and a small dock on the left. It says no fishing allowed but there is a large flat there where I killed them a few times. Also had some luck crossing the bridge, parking in the park on the right across from the boat ramp, walking over the hill and down to the cove. Variety and a challenge can be fun and more rewarding when you succeed 1 Quote
