I'm just getting tired of tying and ready to start loosing some jigs.

This is what I've been tying waiting on the snow to quit falling and the shad to stop dying.  I know.......you northern folks that don't get to spend the winter in Florida are laughing your heads off............

Mr. Mallard,

I tied up a few marabou jigs on ball head jigs for bass fishing last week.  I have also tied jigs with just the rabbit zonkers.  You need to get the magnum or Texas cut zonkers if you want to make something like the articulated streamers.

To answer your question I have tied both.  But unlike you I really HATE marabou.  Although it does look very good on a jig.  I have to turn my fan off when I use it, it makes a mess, and makes me sneeze.

I do think that both of these type of jigs are used much more up North than down here and seem to be tied on ball head jigs much more than football jigs.  It seems that everyone down south thinks that a bass jig needs to be 1/2 oz or more in size and must have a weed guard.

When I started tying jigs I started tying them on ball head jigs because all the examples that I could find were done on ball head jigs by northern fisherman.  Everyone I showed the jigs to had no interest.  When I started tying them on big football jig heads......they fell in love with them.  I think this may be a good question to post in the lure section.

I'll take a dozen like the ones in the last 2 pics.  Those look great.  If I had the tools and know how I'd love to make my own.  I'd love to use some fur or feathers or whatever that stuff is.  Just like the way it moves in the water.  Good show
