Reel Covers?

Hi Guys,

 

Got some new Shimano's and the TW Covers are a bit tough to get on and off and I've never been a fan of the kinks in the line they cause. Long term storage their awesome. I've been looking at the Rod Glove Reel Covers, anyone got some pics, experience and feedback on these or any other covers that don't interfere with the line and are easy to use?

I've got the same problem. A few years back Daiwa offered one that had a window for the eye of the line guide and velcro'ed under the levelwind. I've been searching hopelessly for it.

I´ve never had any issues with Daiwa or Shimano reel covers, but of course, I always remove the reel from the rod for any term storage.

Part of the reason I switched to all rod glove reel covers is because it doesn't kick the line when you put it on.  As far as ease of getting a real cover on and off, tackle warehouse's  are probably the easiest and most convenient. If you're having trouble with those you'll hate everything else.

They just don't seem to fit the new shimano reel shapes. Between the drag star and the reel body is a tight fit (need to rotate ever so slightly) due to the thickness of the TW Covers. Don't get me wrong they are GREAT on SOME reels but suck on my current setups IMO.

I use the Shimano reel covers on all of my reels - casting and spinning.  The rod glove ones looks nice though.  Might have to check them out1

I have shimano reel covers, TW covers and the Rod Glove Reel Covers. The rod glove covers do solve the problem of pinching the line. They are easier to install since your not stretching them to fit.

My problem is the only real cover I can find for my left hand baitcasters is the TW covers, which are ok.  I would just like some more options.

Why dont they work simply flipped over? I do it with the cheap BPS covers which are basically the same

All my reels are LH and I use Rod Glove covers.

Shimano also makes LH reel covers

Nice.  I did not know the Rod Glove covers would work or that Shimano made LH covers.

Any chance you'd shoot some pics? I haven't seen the rod glove reel cover in person and am left handed. I'd like to see a few pics, if you're willing
