Thinking about getting a new spool for one of my curado 51e's, but i'm a bit clueless on the whole thing.  Would a Yumeya 32MM fit my 51e and if so, are any other parts or tools required to swap them out?  If not, can you tell me what size I need to look at?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I can't speak to that particular replacement but any spool that fits should drop right in. Id expect the dealer to know what reel the spool fits

Thanks Mike.  I was looking at one that is used so I didn't want to take the guy's word for it...  I may have to find a dealer and ask them, then give it a shot if it might work.  Glad to know it will drop right in though.

Thanks!

Open sideplate. Remove spool. Drop spool on floor. Curse extensively. Insert new spool.

Also 32mm is the 50/51 size spool. Why are you interested in the new spool? BFS?

ok, so the drop part is critical i assume!!

yeah i don't want to go as far as to say bfs necessarily, but i'd like to be able to cast some lighter lures (1-8 - 1/4 maybe) for sure and would use this reel on my 6' Lucky craft magnum rated down to 1/16 (though i wouldn't be going that low) when fishing the river in NC for smallies.

do you have any experience with this spool?  either the aluminum of magnesium?  if so, what line type and size would you throw on it?

obviously i'm a newber deluxe here so any info would be more than appreciated!!

I don't have personal experience with the Yumeya spool, however there are at least a few people with one so someone will be along shortly I'm sure. Also there's probably some posts on TT about it.

I'd definitely float a PM to Matt the hooligan. Shimano 50 spools are his jam.

I use 5- Yumeya 32mm MG spools in my kit. All are loaded with 8 and 10 lb. Copoly. Awesome spools, esp. teamed with Hedgehog Airs. Brian.

I know it's not the same but I had a avail spool in one of my 51e and it transformed the reel into a little casting machine. It was a direct swap.

Yep, the Yumeya spool will transform that reel into a light weight bait casting machine. It's the real deal. I had one in my Scorpion and loved it. If you're looking at better casting with baits a quarter ounce and under this is the way to go. I didn't care for casting stuff a half ounce or better with it though. I felt the stock spool was better for that. I could run one brake with the Yumeya and cast with no thumb at all till splash down.

The yumeya 32mm magnesium spool is great. Drops right in. 1/8th plastics to 1/4oz hardbaits is where it excels. Also being black, it matches all the 50 reels great...
