Thursday night tournaments

Just curious what you guys think about me joining a local weekday tournament league with a boat that only has a 40 horse on it. It goes 32 mph fully loaded with 2 people. The biggest lake in this is about 700 acres the rest are closer to 300. Just wasn't sure if my boat would be acceptable.

Go out and fish and have a good time, it don't matter what size boat or motor you have. Fishing is fishing not boating.

Thanks for the reply. I really enjoy "fun fishing" just part of my always craves the competition

As long as they allow it, I don't see a reason not to. I fished the local Thursday night tournaments out of a 15' johnboat with a 15hp tiller motor for one summer because it's what I had. Worked out just fine.

I'd fish with whatever the minimum requirements are for the tournament, who cares what somebody might think....  Then I'd grin the whole ride home if i cashed a check!

Go out and fish. My club has a guy with a jet boat that topped out at 25mph. He goes and wins on the biggest lake we fish (Gaston) and AOY with it.

Give it a go! There's no reason to not join because of your boat. Besides, weeknight leagues are pretty laid back (at least in my experience) so there's really no need to worry about your boat.
