Just like the patriots "cheating" scandals, I have no idea what you're talking about. Next question please.

When did I mention anything about the Patriots cheating? I am confused. Did you read anything I wrote?

It's a joke to say that I ignore any kind of cheating rumors because I don't like to get caught up in the BS. I typed it out quick on my way into work. I don't use emojis or lol so my sarcasm doesn't come through well. And no I didn't read what you typed.

I know huh? I wrote that when there was talk of Ausmus getting chopped and now look st them a half game up on the O's!

And who would want to face them in the post season? That line-up can do some damage.

As far as the roid/ped talk? That ship sailed, time to move on.

That's according to Ortiz.

He was found out to have failed a drug test in 2003, shortly after the time Bonds started clubbing home runs off this planet every at bat and as well as Sosa, A-Rod and all the other early early-2000s known steroid users were playing out of their mind.

He tested positive for a banned substance no matter which way you look at, but there is always a chance that the results were wrong. I never buy the silly "I never knowingly took steroids" argument. Not saying Ortiz used this, but thats usually where players take it when they fail a test.

I am not saying he is definitely guilty, but I am an absolute purist when it comes to baseball. I like it squeaky clean, and unfortunately for a lot of former and current players, "suspicion of PED use" is enough for me to want them kept out of the HOF. Any failed drug test that doesn't fall into the "known user" category, falls into the "suspicion of use" category.

Don't get me wrong, what Ortiz is doing in his age 40 or whatever old age season he is in, is amazing. Last year he had a great season as well, and one would have to assume he is clean now.

Nowadays, most players who test positive are no-names who are trying to make it, not stars who already have. Not always this case, with players like Braun, Melky, and Chris Davis (dude just needs his Adderall).

Ortiz may very well be clean and well never know for sure. It definitely seems like Ortiz has gotten a free pass that NOBODY else gets when it comes to alleged PED use. Maybe its because he never fell off when he was exposed.

I'm not hating on Big Sesame, just giving my $0.02. Like I said, what he has been doing in his late 30s and early 40s is pretty ridiculous.

Not saying he didn't do them, just to put some actual facts into the conversation..his name was LEAKED as having tested positive, supposedly. He was never disciplined and the info was never substantiated by mlb. Could have been a legit leak, could have been someone with a chip against him.

Some more "actual facts". The only reason the info going public was a "leak" is because it was supposed to be an anonymous drug test to show the prevalence of PEDs in the sport. He wasn't disciplined because the results from that test were never supposed to be made public. That's not what that particular test was for. The same reason it was never substantiated by MLB. Why would they confirm information that was never supposed to be made public in the first place? That wouldn't make much sense.

His name was one of four that got leaked. Dozens more names who tested positive remained anonymous.

Thank you for making my point..without knowing the cause of the leak, it remains unknown as to whether he and the other players actually tested positive or not. I'm not saying he didn't do them, he probably did, along with all the other names on the list, and countless others. I don't care who does them, I think not allowing certain supplements is foolish, and only causes these foolish discussions, allow them and let the fans make their own decision as to who to root for..Baseball is held to a different standard from other sports, especially football when it comes to this issue, does anyone not think that 90% of the NFL is roiled up, yet those players are not held from the hall or looked at any differently..let MLB players choose what to put in their bodies.

I never disagreed with you. In my original post, I clearly stated he may very well be clean. But the fact that he was never disciplined by MLB or that MLB never confirmed this information is completely irrelevant to whether or not he actually tested positive for a banned substance, in this particular case.

As far as whether or not substances should be banned is a whole other discussion. The fact is MLB does have a list of banned substances. So as long as there are banned substances and some players use them and some don't, the playing field will never be level. This is what I take issue with more than actual PED use itself.

Why is not allowing certain substances foolish? That's silly. If PEDs were allowed, players would be performing at a higher level on average. The result of that would be clean players who don't want to take any substances feeling forced to in order to not fall behind all the juicers. Guys who bust their ***** the right way would lose their jobs to guys who just juice there way to a job. The thought of that is ridiculous. Sports should be about clean, unscripted raw talent.

Not arguing, just debating. I always enjoy a good baseball debate. I don't feel these discussions are "foolish". I am a fan of the sport, so I enjoy talking about the sport and debating my opinion about it.

Heck yeah!  Darvish and Hamels both looked great in their last starts.  I'm ready for playoff baseball!

Nats (finally) clinched last night, although not brimming with confidence with Stras and Murphy hurt.  Maybe the lack of confidence is a good thing. Like Dusty's World Series record...

Jose Fernandez killed in a boating accident early this morning.

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/17632541/miami-marlins-ace-jose-fernandez-dies-boating-accident

Just heard it over the radio, very sad indeed. He was one of MLB's brightest stars. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Sox with a 1/2 game lead on the Indians and 1 behind the Rangers for home field advantage. Just need to clinch the division first and then think about home field advantage.

Prior to 2004, a Sox September usually ended in collapse, this season's September push has been nothing short of remarkable.

Go Sox!

I keep hoping that I'll turn on ESPN and see that this Jose Fernandez thing wasn't real. I can't believe it.

Not looking good for the Tigers they're running out of games too!

Cleveland starters are pretty banged up, Kluber came out of last nights game early. I believe they have 3 starters banged up now.

Yeah what is there 5 games left? Even if they win out, it may be too late. I'd rather see them in than Toronto or Baltimore

Yeah, something like that. It would be fun to see a Rangers/Jays series. Joey Bats had a walk off the other day and did his patented bat flip. He's getting hot again, so I'm sure the Rangers would love to see another bat flip from Mr. Bats...:D...If anything to realign his jaw from the opposite side...:P

It's just for precaution.  Nothing serious.

Wilson Ramos with a torn ACL for the Nats on a bad throw by Zimmerman. Who'd of thunk his crap arm would still haunt us with him at first base?

I'm sure the Sox didn't like blowing a 3 run lead in the bottom of the 9th, but from the pics I saw of the clubhouse celebration, it didn't look like they gave a rats @$$...:D...4 games left with some work to do.

GO SOX!

At this rate, with the Sox giving the everyday guys rest (which they should) it'll be a challenge to have a better record than Cleveland. Toronto will be tough.

However I'm not a huge believer in home field advantage. You could shove science and facts in my face but I would still lean toward it being a superstition kind of thing.

So I would much rather we rest Pedroia, Ortiz, Betts, Leon, etc than to run them out for games that don't ultimately help us in my opinion. Good to see Ortiz get at bats regardless. His season has been magical to watch.

Agreed.

Playing at Fenway is a Good Time but Rested Players Rake the ball where Tired & Hurt players often to not.

I wouldn't mind seeing another game off for some players somewhere in the next 3 games, but I'm a believer in keeping the player's timing with live pitching consistent. Even if its just a couple of AB's per game, that would work.

No need to get hurt or go all out, home field is always the best option in my opinion, but out of all the teams going to the tournament the Sox have the best road record. Just steal one in the opposition's home field and bring it back to Fenway.

Line up the pitching and enjoy the ride!
