throttleplate Posted May 13, 2023 Posted May 13, 2023 O"s win 6-3. Mullins hits for the cycle. Mountain man Bautista strikes out the side in the 9th for the save. Â 1 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted May 13, 2023 Super User Posted May 13, 2023 Hitting for the cycle is HARD!!! Brooks did it in 1960 and it lasted until Cal did it in 1984. Mullins made a name for himself tonight!  2nd best record in MLB. It’s been fun so far! 2 Quote
throttleplate Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Tyler Wells goes 7, Cano takes the 8th and Mountain man saves the game allowing 1 hit with 3 strikeouts. Anthony Santander came up huge with an over the fence snowcone catch.  Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted May 14, 2023 Super User Posted May 14, 2023 Going for the sweep today. Only series loss this year was to Atlanta, and that series was hotly contested. 1 Quote
throttleplate Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 O"s back in the win column. Dean Kremer goes 5 2/3 innings for the win. Mountcastle puts the game away with a 2 run bomb. Â Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted May 17, 2023 Super User Posted May 17, 2023 Atlanta’s pitching better settle down. If their name isn’t Strider or Elder they’re getting shelled. Despite the records of the 2nd-5th place NL East teams, there is a ton of talent in this division so no lead is really safe. Acuña is looking like early season MVP favorite though. 2 Quote

throttleplate Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 O"s on the win side tonight. Bradish with the win and Mountain man for the save. Â Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted May 20, 2023 Super User Posted May 20, 2023 Wow Snickers tried to blow that game, @Jar11591 I know you would have pulled Elder after the 6th, and for sure after he gave up the double to lead off the 7th.   This is one thing that drives me crazy about Snick, overall I think he's fantastic, but he'll cost the Braves several games a year by giving the pitcher the benefit of the doubt.   I still remember when Matt Harvey wouldn't let the Met's manager take him out late in a WS game, sure enough he comes out and blows the game.  Lost all respect for that manager that night, probably why I can't remember his name.  That Royals team was so much fun to watch.  1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted May 20, 2023 Super User Posted May 20, 2023 @AlabamaSpothunter Elder’s stuff was filthy the first 5 innings, but he clearly didn’t have it in the 6th. Definitely should have been pulled after that first batter. But with our pen this year that’s gotta be a tough decision lol. Was great to see the bats come alive against Seattle’s bullpen, they have the best pen in the majors.  How about that behind the back snag on by Elder on the comebacker? That was a Maddux type play right there.  That was a great game. Both starters had serious stuff. My favorite kind of game to watch. 1 Quote

My favorite kind of game to watch. Agreed, but man I thought here we go again after the 7th.  We need to string some wins together now, that road trip was brutal.   Game was full of fielding gems, Braves should have had a few more runs, and they should have had at least one or two. That Ronnie grab in the OF was stellar as well.  He stays healthy, he's a no brainer MVP, he's the best player in MLB including Shohei at this moment imho.  Pure electricity.  He's like Bo Jackson, even the best athletes in the world are in awe of him. 1 Quote
