Super User Jar11591 Posted May 16, 2016 Super User Posted May 16, 2016 Best part was Beltre bear hugging him from behind, Bautista couldn't do anything even if he wanted to! The slow motion shot looks like something straight out of Rocky! Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted July 7, 2016 Super User Posted July 7, 2016 A lot of really young stars this year in this year's All Star game...Cubs and Sox are well represented...I would love to see this game played competitively like it was back in the day. Hopefully the young talent that's in this year will provide the competitive nature to the game. Quote

I'm glad they didn't give-up on Bradley, I just wish they get a left fielder and another starting pitcher for the play-off run Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted July 12, 2016 Super User Posted July 12, 2016 I can honestly say that I do not watch the home run derby or the ASG very often, if ever, since probably back in 99 when they had all the greats show up at Fenway. Last night I watched the derby and I'm still in awe at what Giancarlo Stanton did. I mean he went bridge 61 times! That's incredible! I will be taking in tonight's ASG, I hope it's going to be a good one. Â 1 Quote

Low scoring too, just the way I like it! Starling Marte's homer made one of my fantasy teams lose.  That, combined with Scherzer's ND. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted July 20, 2016 Super User Posted July 20, 2016 The trade deadline is coming up, who are the buyers and who are the sellers? Super User Jar11591 Posted July 20, 2016 Super User Posted July 20, 2016  The trade deadline is coming up, who are the buyers and who are the sellers? These teams can go either way, what do these teams do? American League: Yankees, Astros, Tigers, White Sox, Royals, Mariners National League: Marlins, Mets, Cardinals, Pirates, Dodgers My predictions: AL Yankees: Sell Astros: Buy White Sox: Buy Royals: Maintain Mariners: Maintain  NL Marlins: Buy Mets: Buy Cardinals: Sell/maintain Pirates: Buy Dodgers: Buy  Just my predictions. The trade deadline is the most exciting time during the regular season if you ask me. Hopefully the Braves can score a few more prospects.   1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted July 20, 2016 Super User Posted July 20, 2016  My predictions: AL Yankees: Sell - I think you're right, teams could really use guys like Chapman and Miller. The Yanks aren't usually sellers tho. Since they've won 3 in a row and are currently 6.5 gm back they may make a run for it. They're way too proud to quit right now. Eventually I think they realize that this isn't a winning team now or for the future and trim payroll Astros: Buy - Me too, way too much talent not to make another post season run and the Rangers are sputtering a bit White Sox: Buy - I'm thinking sell. They came out of the gates in spring training and the first 6-8 weeks firing on all cylinders, but since the Shields trade they're finding out that they had fools gold at the beginning of the season. I wish I was wrong, the ChiSox are my favorite team next to the BoSox. Royals: Maintain - Maybe a buy for depth. That team just got killed with injuries this year Mariners: Maintain - You maybe right, the only thing that kills the Mariners is their ball park. Not exactly hitter friendly.  NL Marlins: Buy - I think they will make a push as well Mets: Buy - Injuries are killing them...Buy Cardinals: Sell/maintain - What happened to all their pitching? I'm with you Pirates: Buy - They're making a push too. Probably buying for some depth, I'm not sure what they really need as far as starters are concerned. They seam to have a solid ball club Dodgers: Buy - Yep, especially now that Kershaw is down See above 1 Quote

I don't think they are ready to throw in the towel with Sale pitching at such a high level. I think Shields will turn things around but he still isn't a front of the rotation guy even when he is going good. He is a horse however. Always a lot of innings he pitches. They have some really good talent with Sale, Quintana, Abreu and Frazier. I don't think they are as bad as they have been playing. The Pirates I think will try to add some starting pitching. Liriano and Locke have been terrible this year, so now that Cole is back I think they will try to add a middle of the rotation arm. It's only a matter of time before McCutchen catches fire, and Marte is having a hell of a year. This would be the first year I have ever thought the Yanks would sell. So many trade pieces, so much salary being payed and they are kind of stuck in no man's land. I think they will try to add to the Judge/Bird/Mateo/Severino prospect core. 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted July 20, 2016 Super User Posted July 20, 2016 You know, I forgot about the Tigers in this conversation? I know they're in it, but are they really in it? Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted July 25, 2016 Super User Posted July 25, 2016 Watched some of the HOF induction ceremony last night and kept thinking how much I would have loved to have been there. I went to Cooperstown once at the request of my then 8 year old little leaguer. I could spend days in that museum. Any of you baseball fans ever visit Cooperstown? 1 Quote
