where is @gimruis? MLB needs the fashion police to solve this problem. The Washington Nationals and MLB still cant match the color of the pants and jerseys.

The fact that MLB is rolling with these uniforms, and also denying that there is any issue with them, is insane. Rob Manfraud is such a joke of a commissioner. 2029 canā€™t come soon enough.Ā

Orioles having a great season to date, but we just last week lost starting pitcher Kyle Bradish to tommy john surgery along with starting pitcher John Means and Tyler wells all TJ surgery.

Our best lefty reliever Danny Columbe had surgery to remove bone chips in his elbow and might be back in Sept. Play on and hope to hang on and see what happens at the trade deadline.

The kids at Fenway are making things interesting. Currently in a wildcard position...Buuuut the rumor is that they will be sellers at the deadline...Way to raise ticket prices this season only to bail on the current team John Henry.

They are for sure.

Would be nice to see where they would be now if Casas, Story and Whitlock were healthy...oh well, that's baseball :)Ā

Never expected this going into the final series b4 the All Star break:

And there's still talk that they may still be sellers at the trade deadline. Let them get playoff experience, John Henry!

The season has been a nice surprise and fingers crossed they will stay in the hunt. Itā€™s frustrating to hear that the front office might be in selling mode - when did we become a small market, budget conscious team?

It would be nice to see playoff baseball for sure.Ā
Ā

I honestly think John Henry has always had a small market mentality. Not sure if you ever saw Money Ball? I think it goes back that far. He swung and missed on Billy Beane after Oaklandā€™s low payroll successes.
Ā

Years later after seeing the TB Rays successes, he hires Chaim Bloom.Ā
Ā

Personally, I think heā€™s in the wrong market for that.Ā

The crappy thing is that he'll see their current enjoyable run as support for the decisions he's made so far. Then they'll lose Cora and not be able to replicate it next year. Love how the minors are currently looking but they need use that depth now to do something the fanbase deserves.

The Cleveland Guardians have to be the biggest surprise at the halfway point. Iā€™m watching the all star game and it was posted that they have the best record in the American League.

Ā

Didnā€™t realize that the Phillies had 8 all stars either. Thatā€™s impressive.

Last year 2023 this thread was busy with braves fans and myself, this year pretty dead. Last year the Orioles were winning many games in late inning come backs, this year we are just an average team with a good record but playing .500 ball since the all star break.

My excitement has been neutered due to looosing 3 starting pitchers to tommy john surgery which has derailed the team and just limping along. The only reason the Orioles are tied for first with the Yankees is because the Yanks are playing just as bad as the Orioles.

Well, the M's refuse to relinquish the title of being the only team in MLB history to have never made it to the World Series.

Ā

I guess that's the only title they'll ever have.

I gotta give props to the Tigers. 0.4% chance of making the postseason in August and here they are. First time since 2014. They may be last yearā€™s Rangers. A hot ballclub on a roll.Ā

Ahhhh, Iā€™ve got nothing other than a little bitternessā€¦.. Nothing to say about a game I enjoyed and shared with my family over the decades. A blue collar city that in the 70ā€™s was the proud major sports capital of the United States with the World Champion Aā€™s, the World Champion Warriors, and the World Champion Raiders. All gone from the city of passionate sports fans where Oaklandā€™s professional teams embodied everything is earned, nothing was given.Ā

Ā

I didnā€™t watch any baseball on TV or take my family to out to the ballpark this season. The last game we went to was last yearā€™s first reverse boycott game which had no effect on MLB or team ownership.

Ā

Going forward good luck to my fellow BR members and your teams.

On August 17, the Twins had a 17 game lead on them for the final playoff spot.

Ā

30 days later, that lead had evaporated to 0.5 games.

Ā

As of last night, the Twins were eliminated from playoff contention. Ā Props to the Tigers for hanging in there, but it also took a complete collapse by the Twins as well. Ā Pathetic.
